"I don't think he's showing up today," the dishwasher finally decided about five hours after Eliot usually arrived for a Monday shift.
"Probably staying home with the other two," the cook said. "You know how clingy those three can get."
The busboy sighed dreamily and nodded. "You ever wonder why we're never abducted by aliens or sold cursed antiques or possessed by ghosts or transformed by evil carnivals?"
The cook, dishwasher, and busboy all exchanged looks.
