Anders had taken Lachlan to work with him for the day. It was perhaps a little silly, but he didn't like letting the little cat out of his view since the experience in the simulation.
Lachlan didn't understand the reasoning, but he seemed to find his own way to enjoy the day. He sat under the shelves of herbs and meowed until Anders gave him some catnip, and then wandered around in a happily drugged kitty state, eventually curling up to take a nap right beside the cash register. Anders stayed close, idly flipping through a novel and watching for any customers.
