The Park | Tuesday Afternoon

It was getting easier and easier for Bellamy to leave the comfort of the preserve without his gun. This place, while incredibly frustrating and completely inescapable, was kind of peaceful. It reminded him of those late, late night when his mother was out and it'd only been him and Octavia in their small apartment. When she'd been a baby, Bellamy would rest her against his chest while she slept, telling her stories of their future and how amazing they'd be.

When she'd gotten older, he'd tell her stories about the stars and constellations, how he could see the light of space in her eyes before it'd been taken away from him by his own idiocy and recklessness.

He'd passed through the park a few times on his way to and from the preserve but today, he stopped. Today, he settled down on a bench and lay down on it, long legs hanging off the edge and face turned up to the overcast sky. The clouds were dark and grey, bumping up against each other and spreading out to cover the blue sky.

Maybe it'd rain.

Bellamy closed his eyes and relaxed. He talked to Octavia in his head, wishing that she was okay, hoping that whoever had her was showing mercy. It was stupid to rely on someone like Finn but that's what he was doing.

Bellamy sighed.

It wasn't a very nice day out but that didn't stop Clarke from being outside. After years on the Ark she took every chance she could to be outdoors, even when the weather was crappy.

Somehow she wasn't surprised to see Bellamy here. "Hey."

Clarke looked up at the gray, cloudy sky. "Don't think it'll work very well."

She shrugged. "I don't like being indoors for too long."

Clarke huffed, but was smiling. "I'll pass. Don't want to mess up whatever macho wilderness thing you've got going on out there."

"You don't appreciate the company?" she asked. "I'm shocked."

She was not shocked.

Clarke rolled her eyes. "It is a high school. A lot are probably closer to twelve than twenty."

"I'm not looming," she said, sitting down anyway.

"When I'm looming you'll know it," she said. "You'll be terrified."

"Possibly when you become even more of a jackass?" she asked.

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-11 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Clarke smiled slightly and shook her head. "You don't deserve to see my loom."

"You'll regret doubting me." Eventually. Maybe.

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-11 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"You don't do regret," she repeated. "Really? You regret nothing?"

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-11 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"People don't regret on purpose," she said. "It just happens."

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-11 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't regret that," she said. "I regret everything that happened with Wells and Charlotte. I regret not telling the Ark what was happening to them. I regret a lot of things."

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-12 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
"No, of course not," Clarke said, looking irritated. "I just feel bad, that's all."

[identity profile] 100leader.livejournal.com 2015-08-12 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"And I told you that it's involuntary," she said. "How do you suggest I stop something I have no control over?"
