Shockingly, Alana wasn't in the best of moods today. Johnny taking off didn't help, though she could only argue so much with somebody who wanted to go be a hero. But she was starting to feel like her life was a long litany of goodbyes -- Johnny, Celia, Raleigh, her first roommate Danny. Even her freaking mother had taken off.
Alana knew it was crazy, but it still felt like it must have been something about her that wouldn't let her hold on to people.
A good therapist might have helped, but Alana wasn't the type to think of that. She aggressively cleaned and reorganized the shelves instead, and made plans for a gym visit the second she could shut down the shop. If she exhausted herself enough,she wouldn't be ableto think about this stuff.
