On the street outside MHA, Sunday morning

Jake had woken up early, and gone to the Perk to see if they had any coffee left. Luckily they'd managed to find enough that he was currently sipping a hazelnut mocha. He might have tried going without coffee for a night, but he hadn't liked it much. If he knew what it was, he might have described his resulting mindset as "knurd". But he didn't, so all he knew was that today would have coffee. A lot of coffee.

On his way to the Perk, he'd walked past the MHA, and he'd recognized the place. Not the appartments, particularly, but the place itself.

So now he was standing on the street, drinking his coffee, and thinking about the Great Post-It War of 2005.

Wonka had finished his inspection of the Sweets Shoppe, but that didn't mean he'd finished his inspection of ALL the candy on the island. It was important to be thorough in these matters. He paused as he saw the man drinking what was to his eyes definitely a candy kind of beverage.

"Greetings!" Wonka was far too cheerful for this early in the morning. "I see you are enjoying your candilicious drink!"

"Candilcious!" Wonka repeated. It was possible that the inspection had involved extensive taste testing of sugary products until very late at night. Or early in the morning. However you wanted to look at it. "May I ask where you obtained your wonderful drink?"

Barbossa tilted his head at the apartments. "That used t'be our old house, aye?"

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2015-09-06 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Aye," Barbossa said. "Began me radio career in th' attic. No idea how I managed t' navigate th' equipment."

Barbossa looked shifty. "I know naught o' the shrubbery."

Barbossa shrugged. "Ye be much older now. Mayhaps yer brain is playin' tricks on ye."

Pirate-y liar, he was.

"No, and I've been lookin'," Barbossa said. "That Logan always were a wily one."

Barbossa threw back his head and laughed. "I be forgettin' about those!"

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2015-09-07 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Barbossa laughed again. "Fairly sure it t'was, aye. Me crew certainly doesn't do that fer me."

"Some of them are squirrels," Barbossa admitted. "It be better than women in the crew! They be bad luck."

Elizabeth Swann was terrible luck.

"She burned the rum."

Better believe that got around fast.

"As a signal fire o' all things," Barbossa sniffed. "Real pirates learn t' lash a couple o' sea turtles usin' the hair from their backs."

Barbossa sighed heavily. "I wish. She became King o' the Pirates. It's a very long tale."
