Last week, Alana's work shift had led to a very nice evening with Dante. This week ... who knew where it would lead? Even if she didn't get an exact repeat (which frankly seemed unlikely), the memory was enough to get her to go to work and attack the usual store-cleaning and book-shelving tasks with a spirit of optimism.
