The Perk- Saturday afternoon

Aunt May had been here last year, but Gwen showed her around again yesterday anyway. Really, she just wanted a reason to spend as much time with her over the weekend as possible before she went back to New York. And today, quality time meant coffee.

"So what have you been up to today?" Gwen asked as they took seats.

[Gwen's here with Aunt May but the Perk is open!]

"Nothing too special. I visited a couple of your teachers," May said. "Is it weird that a superhero who uses arrows teaches Sex Ed?"

"That poor man doesn't realize what he's gotten into with that class, does he?" May asked.

"It would take a lot to stop you from speaking your mind, of course," May said. Her sip of coffee barely covered up her proud smile about that.

"They'd have to tolerate it," May said. "It's their job. Especially when dealing with someone in good enough standing to be on the Student Council." She didn't realize that basically nobody ran, no.

"Did they sign you up this year, too?" May asked. Because she bet they didn't. She bet Gwen enjoyed herself.

"You could just not do radio if you didn't want to," May pointed out.

"Do you need me to have a talk with these squirrels?" May asked.

"Just tell me where to find them," May said.

"Well, squirrels, if you can hear me (I can't believe I just said that)," May started, "Stop it with kidnaapping and forcing people to help you. Ask them! And say 'please'! It costs you nothing."

She turned back to Gwen. "They're not even paying you, right?" They were a bunch of squirrels, after all.

May gave her a look that suggested that the offers were expected to be rejected.

"And offering teenagers RUM?" May ranted. "If I EVER hear about that happening again, I am calling the state forestry service and having them come in to take the whole lot of you somewhere else! And if you don't change the way you treat the people helping you out--"

The rest of the rant was... unpleasant. But it got the point across, surely.

"So am I," May said, flashing a smile before taking another drink of her coffee. "I don't get to yell at squirrels so specifically in New York."
