It was another quiet day in the neighborhood.

Bellamy was sitting behind the counter once again, not cleaning any of the guns this time. He wasn't doing much of anything, actually. Maybe he was dozing. His eyes were closed but he was alert all the same.

Somewhat. He was tired, okay?

Not having much to pack for the school trip, Isabela was bored and given she hadn't seen Bellamy for a while (pointing him out to Zevran so they could discuss her excellent taste didn't count) she decided to pay him a visit in case he was doing anything interesting.

Of course, since he was napping, now she was trying to see how close she could creep without waking him. It was a valuable skill to practice and all.

Bellamy didn't sleep deeply. Not at all, not since he'd been kicked off the Ark. So, he could hear someone in the store but he decided to let it fly to see what this person did.

Maybe he'd be entertained.

Stepping lightly, Isabela kept creeping until she was just barely in arms reach then stretched over to flick at his ear.

Sure there were other, more fun, ways she could have woken him, but since she didn't know how he'd react, this way no one accidentally ended up with anything uncomfortable anywhere delicate.

Bellamy didn't open his eyes but he did frown slightly.

"Did you just flick my ear?" he asked quizzically.

"Maybe," Isabela replied cheerfully, flicking at his nose this time.

"Stop that," he said, swatting at her hand and opening his eyes. "Why are you interrupting my nap?"

Isabela grinned and leant her elbows on the counter, chin propped up on her hands. "I'm bored and you're more interesting when you're awake."

"I think that's both an insult and a compliment somehow," he remarked, sitting up and stretching. "What, no big crowds around to entertain you this weekend?"

"Oh, you're very pretty to look at." Which was exactly what she was doing right now. "But I'm not the kind of girl who 'look but don't touch' works on for very long."

There wasn't a trace of shame in her voice as she replied with "Something like that."

"Hmm."

Bellamy rubbed at his eyes and smiled at her, giving her that to look out as well.

"What can I do to be interesting for you today?"

"I can think of a few things, but I'll settle for some conversation to begin with."

What, she wasn't going to wake him, then immediately try and ravish him. Not in public at least.

"Aww, you wanna chat?" He grinned and nodded. "What should we talk about? How was your last weekend? Did you have mom and dad show up?"

Isabela's expression turned pinched around the eyes, just for a moment, and she snorted cynically before tossing her hair back and trying to cover with a light "No, just my lover. How about you?"

Wash had found himself too busy with things back at the project to check on Bellamy these past few weeks. Something he was going to remedy now.

"Are you sleeping standing up?" That was almost impressive!

"No."

See, he wasn't asleep.

"I'm sitting down. Get your eyes checked."

"Is it?" Bellamy opened his eyes and shrugged. "You should make that more clear because you just sounded like you didn't know what you were talking about."

The look Wash gave him was equal parts unimpressed and amused. Really, he should have expected this. He worked with teenagers now.

"Right."

"Can I help you with something?" Bellamy asked him. "Looking for a gun or some ammo?"

"No, no. I wouldn't want to make York do actual work or anything."

"Does that mean you're here to actually bother me?" he asked, wincing. "How great for me."

"It's called friendship. I hear it's fun," Wash replied dryly.

"Wait, wait," Bellamy said, raising an eyebrow. "You consider me a friend?"

"Yes." It should be noted that Wash's idea of friendship was completely fucked up by the project.

"Why?" Bellamy hadn't exactly been very nice to him.
