Homecoming Carnival Post I | The Park | Friday, October 23

Since no murder carnival had decided to visit the island recently, the Student Council had agreed that holding the regular, traditional carnival would be a good way to start out Homecoming Weekend. If nothing else, it was probably the one event that didn't involve unspeakable amounts of glitter, and that had to count for something, right?

The skies were sunny, the air was only a little chilly, and the water in the dunk tanks... was not heated, sorry folks. One new addition to the carnival was the signs scattered around the edges of the park, marking the festivities as 100% clown-free or else. In case anyone had been concerned about such things.

"For charity," Kathy agreed, settling down over the counter of the booth and leaning forward. She licked her lips and grinned at her. "StuCo thanks you for your generosity."

And then she was reaching for Ringo's head to bring her face forward to that kiss.

Well, it was too late for Ringo to change her mind now!

Given that this would be Ringo's fourth kiss, she wasn't exactly experienced. So she was willing to let Kathy take the lead, leaning in at the light pressure from the other girl's hand, lips pursing slightly.

She had a lot more kissing experience than Kathy'd had at her age! She hadn't gotten her first kiss until her junior year!

...Though being friends with Ezra had certainly made up for lost time.

Kathy brushed Ringo's lower lip with her thumb, then followed it with a soft brush of her mouth over Ringo's. Gentle, tentative, and slow--the last thing she wanted to do was make Ringo uncomfortable!

Well, sorry, Kathy, but you were totally making Ringo uncomfortable. But it was in a really nice, stomach-butterflies sort of way. So Ringo didn't mind at all.

Her eyes slid closed and she didn't realize she was humming very, very softly as she slowly leaned forward, trying to match Kathy's motions and pressure.

Okay, good, Ringo wasn't freaking out of running away, so Kathy could deepend the kiss a little more. The hand on Ringo's cheek slipped around to cup the back of her head, keeping her closer still, and rather than a series of soft, light, kisses, Kathy opened her mouth for one deep one. It was still more tender than ardent and had no tongue, but it was very skilled.

They were definitely past Ringo's limited experience by this point (that hadn't taken long), but that was okay with her. Because this was. Well. Yeah.

Ringo tried to keep following Kathy's lead, but it was probably pretty obvious that she wasn't experienced at this. Maybe it wouldn't be too awkward, though, because she'd hate for Kathy to come away with a bad opinion of Ringo's lack of kissing skills.

Awww, Ringo, honey. Kathy would never judge someone for not having a lot of kissing experience! Especially someone as young as Ringo!

The kiss lasted another fifteen, twenty seconds before Kathy was pulling away. But she did lightly nip Ringo's lip before she drew away completely.

"Got your money's worth?" she teased with a wink.

Hopefully Kathy wasn't expecting an answer. If Ringo's blown-out pupils, flushed cheeks, and generally dazed expression were anything to go by, though, she probably would have said yes if the part of her brain that handled language worked. Or any part of her brain, really.

"I'm taking that as a yes," Kathy said with a small chuckle.

Because she recognized that expression, oh yes. Either she was a better kisser than she thought, or...hmmm.

"Ringo?" she called quietly. "Earth to Ringo, come in Ringo."

It took a couple more seconds, but Ringo blinked suddenly, letting out a little sigh. Then she shook her head, clearly trying to clear it. "Um, what? Er, I'm here!" Mostly, anyway.

Kathy gave her a faint smile. "Hey," she said said softly. "Needed a second?"

Guess who was on the verge of a dawning realization.

No one? No one was on the verge of realizing anything!

Ringo still looked a little short of breath, but her lips curled upward in a little smile. "I've never been kissed like that," she admitted shyly.

That expression was kind of telling, Ringo. And Kathy was capable of putting a few things together. Slowly, yeah, but eventually.

"Really?" Kathy asked. "You should find someone who kisses you like that on the regular," she advised. "Like that, or better."

Nuh uh! Ringo was giving nothing away! She was super subtle!

"I should?" she asked, looking thoughtful. "Maybe." She smiled that smile again. "It was nice."

The kind of subtle where the 'b' was pronounced, maybe.

"I'm glad you liked it, sweetheart," Kathy said. "Maybe that'll stop you from arguing with me about whether or not I'm a good kisser."

"No," Ringo laughed, shaking her head, a gesture that wasn't accompanied by the usual swaying pigtails with her hair done up. "I'll admit that you're a pretty good kisser."

"Just 'pretty good,' huh?" Kathy teased, raising an eyebrow. "That's not what your expression said."

Ringo blushed again, but lifted her chin, trying to look haughty. "Well," she said, "better than my last three kisses, I have to admit." Maybe even combined.

"But! I am sure there are better kissers than you."

Actually, wait. That was a scary thought. Because if Kathy had made her feel like that after a kiss, what would it mean for someone to be better?

"Oh easily," Kathy agreed. "I only just started kissing myself in the past few months. You want to kiss someone with real skill, try Ezra or Dante."

Kathy laughed at that face. "What's wrong with Dante?" she asked. "Radio says you two hang out from time to time."

"Oh, it's not like he's a bad guy," Ringo said quickly. "He's just, well, um. He's just Dante-ish?" That might or might not get the point across.

It did, actually, but Kathy was having fun. "Do explain," she invited. "There are lots of ways that can be taken."

"Have you met Dante?" Ringo asked rhetorically. "Because that should be all you need to understand what I'm getting at." Come on, Kathy. He was, like, a brat!
