Homecoming Brunch, the Park, Sunday Morning

Because Student Council hadn't dipped too deeply into the glitter reserves yesterday, the island seemed set on compensating today. Leaves were falling off the trees, coated in natural glitter. They shimmered in piles and on picnic tables, perfectly complimenting the various autumn forest decorations set up across the park. There were space heaters, too, to help with the cold, and a spread that was impressive even for Fandom's standards. (Certain members of Student Council might have had something to do with that.)

It really was a huge spread this time, with various moddable foods and drinks. And several iterations on the theme of 'pizza'.

Dante had had a great fucking night, so he was looking pretty smug as he put various slices of pizza on a plate. Mmm.

... Edward would never quite get over the novelty of having such an enormous spread at his disposal. He was certainly digging into it.

Xanthippe's dance had been uneventful, except maybe for covertly eyeing some people who'd spent most of their dance in the shadows. Anyway, she was here, she was getting food, and soon enough she'd probably be gone because she was yet to ease into being too social here.

No dress today. Just comfy grungey clothing.

Ender had found a seat at a table. He'd been carrying baby Val around in a sling, but now she was sitting on his lap, babbling and trying to put various food items into her mouth.

He was getting the impression she might be testing their weight.

Aunt Val looked up at him with big, confused baby eyes.

Then she flailed at him. Or rather, his hair.

"Be glad it's not your father yet," Ender said wryly.

"He's probably still a few years off," Ender admitted. "We have our hands full with this one."

Cade frowned thoughtfully. "Yeah, I guess there are a couple of years in between them."

"The process of making Val was an ordeal," Ender admitted, gently tucking some of her tiny hairs behind her ear. "We're still coming back from that."

But that was a relief.

Leto watched Hania arrange her collection of glittery autumn leaves on the table, with small stones placed on each to keep them form blowing away.

"You should try the pizza," he said. "It's a quite popular dish here, and tastes better than it looks." He pushed a plate towards his daughter, who frowned suspiciously.

Jasper had barely been at the dance last night. Or, that's what it felt like at least. He'd stayed hidden most of the night, fighting against the urges that sometimes flared up and made him want to do things he'd vowed to do never do.

He felt better this morning and so he'd come out to grab some food, maybe see a person or two before he took a walk and got some fresh air. Maybe call Howie to get a taste of home.
