Alana didn't get sick very often. She knew abstractly that she probably should have -- new planet, different germs, yada yada. But either luck was with her or Landfall's germs were close enough to protect her, because she couldn't remember the last time she was sick.
Until today.
It wasn't even that she was really sick. Not see-a-doctor sick. Not even call-in-sick-to-work sick. No, her cold was more the sniffle-a-lot-and-feel-gross kind of sickness, and she hated it. A lot.
She, and her box of Kleenex, were going to be permanent fixtures behind the shop counter today.
