Boomerang was in full costume, hoping to be allowed the anonymity that comes with having a boomerang stuck to your forehead. He needed that anonymity because he didn't want any questions about last night. Things happened. Things that shook him to his core. He had regrets.

But he also got some, so it wasn't a total wash.

But still. Regrets. That's why he was spending his morning, drinking coffee, hiding behind a newspaper, and recovering. In a goofy costume covered in boomerangs.
