Fandom Post Office, February 9 (Tuesday)
It had turned out to be an eventful morning for Éponine, who'd had to break up an argument (all right, it was a glaring match, but a very potent one) between one of the delivery turtles and the Alot of Junk Mail that had been sitting out back.
"I'm on your side, 's it happens," she ended up telling the turtle, "but we can't just toss out mail addressed to other people even if it's pointless and silly and no one reads it. It's against the law and they've got to do that themselves or I'll be in trouble for it, so you'll just have to come around through the front door until all this gets delivered and that creature goes away, there's nothing for it."
Then she laughed sharply and shook her head. "Agreeing with a turtle! I ought to be surprised it took this long for that to happen."

Making a 'wait there' gesture, as if Kitty would just disappear or something, she hurried into the back room and came out with a bundle of mail that she placed on the counter. "There you are, everything going to your place."

"You just tell me what's got to be done, then," she declared. "Soon's you remember what it is, that is, and I'll see it's taken care of."

At least until she cracked a smile right at the end.
