Demon Marcus, Monday
Alluka wasn't really sure what to make of her weekend. It had been nice to see Kathy and Ringo.
But it had also been deeply confusing.
She was mostly going to focus on the nice bits of it, since that was more fun, and it meant that she could cart around her elephant as she rearranged the shoes without feeling like she ought to be doing anything more.
Not that she had anything she could do.
None of it really made sense to her? At least the clothes made sense. They usually did. So did her toys.

Talk to Alluka
Re: Talk to Alluka
That said, he'd actually had a mostly non-traumatic weekend, with the exception of one friend being back from the dead who he doubted was here anymore, and even that was a foggy memory, at best. So he was giving Alluka a bright smile and a wave as he made his way inside.
"Hey there, kiddo!"
Re: Talk to Alluka
Alluka trotted over to him to show off the shoes she was wearing. "Look at these shoes! Aren't they adorable? When did we get these in stock?"
Re: Talk to Alluka
They were exactly the sort of shoes he probably would have actually tossed into the burn barrel if he'd gotten to them first, but ... hey, they seemed to make her happy, so he grinned a little.
"If they're your size and you like them, you're totally welcome to keep them, free of charge. You've been doing a great job around here, I think you deserve a bonus."
This was also true! But he was kind of starting to rethink the practicality of having a burn barrel in the first place. Maybe just a 'what the hell is this?' discount rack or something. It'd be useful for those weekends when people came in with few clothes and even less money, or new semesters or whatever...
Re: Talk to Alluka
She blinked at him. "I, I can?" Alluka looked down at her toes. The shoes looked back up at her. "They don't really go with a lot of what I own, but I guess I have some stuff that would work with them."
Re: Talk to Alluka
Re: Talk to Alluka
"Okay!" Alluka was totally willing to do that, yes she was. "Where do you think we should start? Did you want a new outfit too?"
Re: Talk to Alluka
He kind of liked the suit that he'd been wearing on the weekend. He remembered that much. And he could do alterations pretty easily, but there was something appealing about that 'tailor' thing that a twenty-years-from-now Sparkle had taken up... Maybe he'd consider that, himself.

Re: Talk to Alluka
"How about we start with something not super casual, and go from there," he decided. "You know, for those days when I don't feel like doing my makeup, but still want to look like I care about what people think."
In fairness, his makeup usually said 'I care about what people think' in that way that suggested he didn't want them to think highly of him, but bah, that was their problem, not his.
Re: Talk to Alluka
"Maybe start with a nice pair of pants?" she suggested.
Re: Talk to Alluka
Re: Talk to Alluka
"Fun," she said happily, then paused. "But how fun?"
There were different degrees here.
Re: Talk to Alluka
"Super fun," he decided. "Bright colours, like yellow or lime green or hot pink. What do you think, Alluka? Would I be able to pull off a pair of hot pink pants?"
Re: Talk to Alluka
"Yes," Alluka decided. "You definitely could. I think we've got some, if you wanted to?"
Re: Talk to Alluka
He was so on board for this.
Re: Talk to Alluka
Re: Talk to Alluka
Look, Sparkle knew exactly where the hot pink pants were. It wasn't like they were even difficult to spot from across the store. But this was way more fun than just heading over there to get them himself, and it was practical customer service experience, to boot. He was so going to let Alluka take point on this one, to see how she was coming along.
