Community center class: Yes, You Can Actually Cook

There actually wasn't a pile of fresh vegetables on the front table, today. Instead, there was a digital projector and a laptop. Probably both stolen from the teacher's boyfriend. Fortunately, he did all the poking at it trying to get it to work before class, as proved by the YouTube page projected on the wall.

There was also a large cooler on the floor in front of the table, filled with a variety of booze. Eliot himself was slouched behind the table with his feet up on a spare chair, covered in light scratches and pressing an icepack to his face.

"I didn't have time to prepare the usual class today," he announced when it was time to start. "I was busy tryin' not to be the main course for a buncha creepy-ass man-eating teddy bears. Have a movie day. There's booze."

And he tipped his own bottle of beer back to take a long swig, and hit play on the computer.

Granted, Vic had nothing to do with the cooking class but decided to poke her head into the community center to see what it was all about. What she saw was a cooler of beer and what appeared to be a cooking show with a very inebriated person.

Seemed like a good class to crash as any.

So she took a minute to rummage through one of the fridges where she found a sandwich (Hey. She was hungry!) and grabbed a beer out of the cooler. "So looks like you're slacking off today," she said with her mouth full of the sandwich. "You get paid for this?"

Eliot scowled at the sandwich in her hand. "Really. You just waltz in and grab whatever food you happen to find in the fridge."

"Well there was potato salad but it had someone's name on it," Vic said with a shrug as she took another bite.

Granted there was probably a name on the sandwich but the potato salad looked iffy.

Eliot had spent plenty of his time hanging out with Vic with a scowl on his face, but they seldom if ever got as deep as this one was. "Did you put that sandwich into the fridge?" he demanded. "It ain't yours!"

He'd put a lot of effort into that sandwich, dammit! It was his favorite kind!

Well it's not like it's a memorable sandwich, Eliot.

"Hey. Possession is nine tenths of the law," Vic pointed out after swallowing the last bite. "Plus I don't think anyone wants a sandwich with bite marks in it now."

"You ain't even got the palate to appreciate a sandwich like that!" She'd practically inhaled it. It was on an everything bagel, who even chewed bagel that fast? "The hell is wrong with you?! Someone makes themselves a damn sandwich to bring to work, they shouldn't have to worry about some -- class crasher wandering in and sullyin' their good work!"

"Uh. First of all this no reason to get emotional," Vic said taking a step back. "It's a turkey sandwich."

"Oh yeah, they were super chatty. Really wanted to show off their spears."

"That's Ewoks for you, it's all spears and tying people up and 'yub wub.'" Kanan shrugged his shoulders a bit. "So, how in the world did they manage to get the drop on you?"

It had really only been a matter of time before Fandom put them somewhere that had locals that thought people were delicious. Honestly, now.

He would be now, though.

"Hang on, how do you know about 'em?"

Either Kanan had had his own barbecue to fight his way out of, or he had some insider information.

"Let's just say that the only reason I haven't jumped onto the Expedient and attempted to fly my way back to Gorse from here is that there are no fueling stations on Endor," Kanan replied, a bit dryly. "We're in my galaxy. I guess not necessarily my version of it, but Ewoks are Ewoks."

They were primitive and lived isolated to the same place, but they weren't completely unknown in the Galaxy.

Well, now, that information had all sorts of implications. On the food they could access in this area of the -- galaxy? Universe? Multiverse? -- to say the least. Eliot knew he probably shouldn't be, but he was pretty boggled all the same. As far as he knew, this was the first time the island had wandered its way into the home of someone it had -- taken.

"Huh."

"Yeah, huh," Kanan sighed. "I might have enough fuel to be able to get myself to a planet I can top up on, but even then, I have no guarantee I'm in the right time. It's hard to tell, judging by the locals here."

They used rocks as tools, and he wasn't exactly some kind of great expert on the technological advances of Ewoks.

"The island is enjoying rubbing it in, I think."

And it wasn't like it had a giant artificial death moon to judge by. Maybe there were imperial walker shells buried amongst the trees?

"That's rough, buddy sucks, man," Eliot said. "And I'm guessin' we'll be moving on too quickly for you to pop out and check."
