The first thing Jessica did when she got in was to double check that her blood and the serum she stole from Tony's world were still locked up. She was paranoid. Then she did another run through her map of Tony's Queens, just to see if there was any new business and to make sure she was familiar with it compared to her world.
It was then, and only then, that she started looking around for the source of a persistent duck call that had been blaring since before she got to work. It turned out to be an alarm clock with a novelty ringer. Apparently, it didn't have novelty alarms three days ago, which was why it had been brought in. After failing to find the issue after an hour, Jessica crushed it in her hands. The duck call persisted for a bit, but weakly, until the spirit of the duck that had been possessing it flew away.
"I can't believe that hunch paid off," Jessica said.
