Community center class: Yes, You Can Actually Cook
Eliot was leaning back at the front table again, this week, beer bottle in hand. "It's the last week of this class," he said when it seemed like everyone who was going to show up had. "So here's your last bit of beginner's cooking advice from me: don't be afraid to screw it up. For the most part, you're just gonna end up with somethin' that doesn't taste too good. If it's meat, err on the side of overcookin' it so you don't poison anybody. Otherwise, go nuts. Experiment. Figure out what works for you in your particular kitchen, and have fun with it.
"So that's what you're doin' today. The fridge is fully stocked with stuff you should be able to handle, or at least google how to handle, by now. Play around a bit, see what you come up with." Eliot smiled and saluted them with his beer. "Don't set anything on fire unless a recipe calls for it, and try not to bleed on anything. I'd really rather not kill anyone on in the last class."

Cook something
Re: Cook something
At the end of the endeavor, it wasn't quite an omelet, but it certainly did have a lot of stuff in it. It was probably just fortunate that he cooked all of the meat before throwing it in, too.
