And Somewhere Else Else on the Island, Saturday

Steve
Steve was loyal and prompt!

...and dressed as Captain America, shield on his back and all. He wasn't sure exactly what they were going to facing, but he was going to be as prepared as possible.

Frank
Frank was loyal and less prompt, but far more angry considering he hadn't had anything but lemonade to drink for the past few days.

"We'd better find this thing quick," he said, looking like an angry yet still dapper pony. "I'm going to be sober any day now!"

Steve
Steve let out a sigh. "I hadn't even thought about how we'd fight with a bunch of pony...people," he said. "I don't suppose you have a party cannon too?"

Frank
"If you give me something to drink, I can spit lemonade," Frank noted. "Lemonade and anger."

Steve
"...well, it's something," Steve said. "I once fought on a team with a guy with bows and arrows against an entire alien invasion and that worked out okay."

Sorry, Clint.

Frank
"I'm not going to do either of those things, even if you ask nicely," Frank mentioned. "What I CAN do is help find a thing. Probably by offering biting commentary to amuse and charm people."

Steve
"Sounds like a plan. So. Loyalty. Wonder what that would look like?" Steve mused.

Frank
"A pair of things that shouldn't be separated, probably," Frank suggested. "Much like me and a martini glass,"

Jack
"I think of devotion," said Jack, who was as human as he ever was and apparently unarmed.

(There was a tiny pistol tucked into his waistband, but he was hoping he wouldn't need to use it.)

"Dogs. Married couples. People who will do anything to serve a cause they believe in."

Steve
Steve chuckled. "They give medals to people in the last category."

Then he paused. "You don't think that could be it?"

Frank
"Sounds as plausible as anything. But where could we find medals?" Frank asked. "And more importantly, where can we find liquor strong enough to resist being turned into lemonade?"

Look, be happy that he tried thinking about the medals first.

Jack
"There's a junk shop on the island," Jack offered, since he wasn't about to give Devil's Nest stock to a pony. "Things Reborn. A few medals must have washed up there."

Which was sad, if looked at a certain way. Jack was trying not to look at it that way.

Steve
The slightly stricken look on his face--quickly masked--meant Steve had looked at it exactly that way, at least for a moment.

"I have a couple, too," he volunteered, "but I think the shop sounds like a better idea."

He left the "junk" part off deliberately.

Jalian
"What are we looking for?" Jalian asked. "What does a 'medal' look like?"

Steve
"For the military ones, it's a small piece of metal in a particular design to denote what award you've been given," Steve explained. "It's normally designed to be worn on your uniform at formal events."

He had a ton of 'em.

Frank
"And if you treat them well, they shine like a martini in the moonlight," Frank said. He had no personal experience with service medals, but he had PLENTY of experience with martinis with various light sources.

Jalian
Jalian thought. "I have seen nothing like that. They have them at this store?"

Steve
"And I have them in my drawer at home, if that's easier," Steve said, trying to sound off-hand.

Jack
Jack turned, trying to catch Steve's eye.

"That's generous, but what if we don't get them back when this is over?" he asked. "You shouldn't lose something you can't replace to this."

Steve
"It's just a thing," Steve said with a shrug. "I didn't even show up for the presentation."

Jalian
"That seems best, then," Jalian said. "It will be faster than searching."

Frank
"Off to your place, then!" Frank declared, taking charge after everything had already been decided.

[OOC: Preplayed with Frank, Steve, Jack & Jalian! Thanks, gang!]
