Community Center Class: International Cuisine, Monday evening
Once again, those people showing up for class would be shown through the portal, Hannibal meeting them on the other side, on one side of a wide street where it was refreshingly dark and pleasantly cool. "Good evening," he said, nodding calmly. "I thought you might all enjoy something somewhat less bright and sweltering."
He spread his arms to gesture around them. "Welcome to Lima, Peru. The primary language here is Spanish; I speak it, and I imagine some of you may as well; please speak up so the others will know they can use you as a resource. Peru's standard cuisine owes much to a number of immigrant groups in the area; the restaurant we'll be visiting pares down some of those influences and focuses on local ingredients and flavors from the Amazon rainforest. The chef has researched quite a bit, and formed relationships with local suppliers that enable him to offer a wide variety."

Re: Eat!
Hannibal nodded to Kanan. "I understand that the sun isn't screaming anymore, but that it's now far too bright."
Re: Eat!
It was a lot to keep track of. Kanan knew space fairly well, but come on.
Re: Eat!
Re: Eat!
This was said as Kanan reached for another helping of shrimp, mind.
Re: Eat!
He took a bite of the ceviche.
"I feel as though I should be mapping our locations for you, possibly with entire history lessons."
Re: Eat!
"I guess if I'm going to be stuck on even one chunk of your planet, flying around the multiverse, it can't hurt to know more about it," he mused. "I mean, if you don't mind doing that sort of legwork, I'm willing to learn. Understanding more about this place can't hurt anything. That said, the moment we stop somewhere resembling home, I'm out of here. I wouldn't want you wasting your time, either."
Yeah, he was still hoping to bail on this place.
Re: Eat!
There had to be some planets in that huge galaxy with more than one culture on them.
Re: Eat!
So.
"Well, then I'd be interested in learning what I can," Kanan decided. "If it's no trouble."
Re: Eat!
Humans were humans, after all. And Hannibal didn't imagine most sentient beings were any better. Or worse.
Re: Eat!
"History is a dirty place," Kanan allowed. "I've studied no small amount of conflict in the past. My galaxy's been a very bloody place from time to time."
Take, for example, the last decade.
Re: Eat!
However one defined that.
Re: Eat!
Not just because the island was being greedy, either.
