Kanan was ignoring the staff today at Luke's. It seemed like the sanest way to get through the day, given their penchant for... well...

'Existing' was an unfair choice of words in a sentence like that, wasn't it? It wasn't that he hated his coworkers. It was just that they could be exhausting in new and exciting ways, and this morning had started with a teasing and mostly harmless statement from the busboy about Kanan's intergalactic vernacular that Kanan was choosing to hold a grudge about.

The ignoring only lasted about an hour, and then the busboy, kind of timidly, slid a cup of what looked like strong black coffee in Kanan's direction as a peace offering. Kanan glowered at it, and then at the busboy, and then grudgingly reached to take the cup.

"Wait, where the frack did you get your hands on caf?"

The busboy shrugged.

"My father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate knows a guy."

And then he wandered off again, leaving Kanan blinking after him.
