Jessica's battle jacket was coming along nicely. Two thin layers of armor with some circuitry in between, giving her some options for high tech improvements. The best one was the power source that could give extra charge to her shock gloves.

"Okay, JARVIS. Set it up and be prepared to measure the output." She constructed a mini-firing range in the back of the shop with a target sheet and sensors to see how much charge the jacket could produce. She even set up a lightning rod behind the target to be a ground for the webbing, just in case. "And... go!"

The webbing burned straight through the paper and stuck to the lightning rod. The paper, meanwhile, was on fire. "Okay, good power," she said, grabbing a fire extinguisher and getting to work before the sprinklers... Okay, AS the sprinklers went off. "Shut it down, JARVIS."

[OOC: Spotty for a couple hours due to a dental appointment. My mouth will look complete again!]

"Should I be concerned by the sprinklers?" Tony asked, hand over the top of his coffee cup just in case.

"Minor paper fire. It was under control even without the sprinklers," Jessica explained as she put the extinguisher back.

"JARVIS can get a little protective of the place," Tony said, looking at what she was working on with interest.

"Fortunately the water won't do anything to the new jacket," Jessica noted. "I put some tech in it. Lightweight armor, extra charge for my shock gloves - strong enough to set set the paper on fire as it passed through - plenty of room to expand with more capabilities."

"Need any help with the power supply?" he asked, half wishing he had access to his company to help with the body armor.

"Only if you want to kill some time," Jessica said, taking the jacket off and touching the hidden thumbprint scanner that revealed a seam into the jacket. After a second, she pulled the power supply out. "The design I came up with only has a couple charges to keep it as light as possible. Use it in emergencies, replace it next time I can restock. I don't want it weighing me down even a little. But if you could come up with something rechargeable without increasing the weight much, have at it."

"I think I can manage something," Tony replied with a quick smile. "I don't just design flying metal bricks."

"And even though I enjoy those metal bricks, I appreciate the variety," Jessica said. "The only other thing I need right now is ideas of what to add. Even with all my time at SHIELD, I was generally the agent who didn't play with too many toys."

And Tony was the mother hen team leader who made specialty spacesuits for each of his teammates.

"Any idea what you'll be running into with it?"

"With my history?" Jessica asked. "Absolutely anything, up to and including all-powerful gods. If I don't have Odin gunning for me even once in my life, I'm going to consider that a missed opportunity."

"Something that can knock Thor back. Gotcha."

And maybe something for space. Oh! And something for the arctic. Or for the ocean.

"Just remember, it can't sacrifice too much speed and movement," Jessica said, just in case Tony was going to get ahead of himself. "If I'm fighting Thor, my best odds are to dodge and hit him a lot."

...he was still going to make her jackets for those environments. It was his thing.

"Try not to fight Thor to begin with," he suggested. "Lightweight and tough. Might need to get J to scrounge up supplies for us."

JARVIS would be stealing them, but Tony didn't need to know that. Not after the long talk they had about stealing a Quinjet.

She was going to be the star of an action figure line with jackets in all kinds of neon colors, wasn't she?

"Sometimes Thor goes crazy and has to be fought. I can't help that," Jessica said. "Hopefully the scrounging doesn't put you out too much."

SHE NEEDED THEM, OKAY?

"He's good at it. He's also been investing, it seems."

And he was scary good at that. JARVIS might be the new CEO of Stark Industries soon enough.

ARCTIC BLAST JESSICA WITH SNOW WEBS WAS GOING TO FEEL VERY SILLY SOMEDAY.

"Really? I hope that doesn't mean we're going to lose out on having to scrounge any time soon. That's usually closer to my style."

NOT WHEN SHE WAS STUCK IN THE ARCTIC, IT WOULDN'T.

Tony shook his head. "Money's for paying you guys and keeping Barton's team afloat."

And for JARVIS to take over the world.

"The second part is the most important part," Jessica said. "I work enough around Fandom to make due."

Yeah, but he ~cared~ about his employees.

"Well, arrows are expensive," he joked. Okay, half joked.

Tony didn't even know about the slush fund she had at the Bank of Fandom that Monica Chang set up in the final days of Jessica's SHIELD. But that was more for things that might go horribly wrong in the future than everyday living expenses.

"I'm really glad my projectiles are organic. It really helps with the budget," Jessica joked.

Slush funds, shady government agencies, making fun of Hawkeye... it was the best friendship ever.

"It's what's keeping us out of the red."
