Stark Industries, Friday
Peridot was still feeling weird about the results of yesterday's Ethics class, so she was spending her shift today attempting to make up for it the only way she knew how... by learning. Learning in as hands-on a manner as she possibly could. She'd found a book in the library about educational Earth experiments to try at home, and now she was testing Earth chemistry by mixing two fairly benign substances together in order to create a volatile reaction.
The results were interesting, if slightly disappointing. Peridot frowned a little and watched the mixture foam and bubble and spill out onto the floor, then looked at the container of sodium bicarbonate in one hand, and the food-grade fermented ethanol that she was holding in the other.
"See, JARVIS, I could have told them myself that this isn't how volcanoes work."
She'd probably even clean up after herself before her shift was through. Probably. Once she was finished explaining how volcanoes really did work to a somewhat exasperated AI who couldn't get a word in edgewise long enough to tell her that he already knew.
