Post-3MD Caritas, Saturday Evening

No, the bar did not cease to exist once the dates were done. It ceased being an open bar, though, but that was okay, you had money, right? Come on, buy your favorite date another drink! Don't be stingy!

Mike was even there behind the bar to give recommendations. Or a chance for an impromptu extra three-minute date. Because, dammit, maybe he should've participated.

Anyway. There were still drinks. All was right in the world.

There were drinks. Dante'd had a couple while the bar was open, and he wasn't planning to stop just yet.

... okay, he reserved the right to stop if he saw anyone interesting.

But right now, he was hanging out there, drinking, and eyeing the crowd.

So help him, Kanan had enjoyed himself tonight. Probably an indication that he needed to get out more, admittedly. And he'd made plans for later in the week, which, if you asked him, was a good first step toward that 'getting out more' thing that he needed to be doing.

And now he was still at the bar, and his free drinks were empty, so he was ordering himself another rum and just sitting back with a little smile, content to drink and people-watch for a while.

So, those had definitely been some dates, there. Some good. Some bad. One that left him kind of wanting cookies...

Sparkle was sticking around for a while longer for another drink or three, mostly because he wasn't in any hurry to head back home, partly because there were some people he wanted to maybe talk to some more, while they were still here. He had another beer in his hand, from the land of the great white north and all, and was trying not to make a face at it.

Tiny. Puh.

Frank would be at the bar until it was no longer open or he was kicked out. Sure, he was even more flighty than usual after that Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, but his body was strong and he felt that he could overcome that drink with more drinks he was used to.

And maybe another Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster.

Tony's dates hadn't been nearly as awful as the last time he did this. Mostly because he was in full control of himself during them.

Which. You know. Was awesome.

That would be why he was just ordering a beer rather than something harder to deal with things.

SO TINY, SPARKLE.

"Alright, how did your dates go," Tony asked, taking the seat next to him.

HE WAS TWENTY WHOLE YEARS OL- ahahahahaha no the narrative still couldn't.

"Not bad, I don't think," Sparkle replied, turning a glance and a little smile toward Tony. "There was ours, and then one guy who just isn't into that kind of thing. Two offers for 'let's do something later,' and the guy at the end who wanted to give me cookies."

... Or murder somebody for him, but that probably wasn't the sort of offer you just talked about, was it?

"How about yours?"

"Aren't you popular," Tony teased. "I think for the most part they went well. Better than last time's lack of control, that's for sure."

"I'm still waiting for my cookies," Sparkle quipped, and then shrugged and took a mouthful of his beer before continuing. "And yeah, doing these date things on our own terms is an improvement. I still can't complain about the results of the last time around, but I'm not super interested in a repeat of whatever that was happening all over again, either."

"Do we even know what happened there?" Tony asked. "Or do we just not want to know?"

Probably the latter.

"I won't be heartbroken if I never find out," Sparkle decided. "The 'falling in love' thing was way weirder than the island's usual annual sex pollen, and even that gets pretty awkward from time to time."

Usually more for the people around him than for Sparkle himself. But hey, he'd learned to back off when he was asked, so that was good?

"I've managed to get it filtered out by the armor," Tony said brightly. "Of course, it would involve wearing that for however long it lasted..."

The weird thing about being a teenager again recently was that it was a weird window into how much more active Jessica's social life was ALL THOSE YEARS AGO when she would do these in high school. Now she was looking forward to getting back to going home and finishing up some science journals from Tony's world.

She was such a bigger nerd at 20 than she was at 15. Screw it, she could get a couple more drinks.

"Usually it's, like, a week," Sparkle sighed. "Can you comfortably wear that for a week?"

Sparkle was pretty sure he'd get all claustrophobic in something like that.

"I end up taking it to the mainland. Get some distance, maybe go to a club or something. Stop giving my roommate bedroom eyes, because that's just fucking weird."

"Agreed," Tony replied promptly. "I tried to just work through it."

The look on his face implied that in no way worked.

"... How would you even do that? Like, could you even focus?"

Boys, you were getting so off-topic, here.

"You look pretty happy. Did you find a special someone?" Jessica teased as she took a seat by Tony.

"It worked up until the end of the week." A beat. "As long as no one tried to talk to me."

Not even JARVIS was spared the flirting.

"The love of my life," Tony replied dryly. "No, but I met some nice people. You?"

"Yeaaaah, maybe you should consider taking it to the mainland, too," Sparkle suggested, smiling faintly. "Not breathing it in helps, at least a little. Honest."
