Homecoming Dance 2016, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

If you were at all familiar with Fandom High dances, you were probably well aware that the level of glitter was generally high, to say the least. Even by those standards, this year's Homecoming Dance was overdoing it.

Welcome... to the Post-Glitterocalypse. A smoke machine was working overtime with some red-tinted lighting and, of course, a metric ton of glitter to create an atmosphere that was simultaneously imposing and very sparkly. Radioactive hazard symbols were scattered throughout the hall and the sparkly wreckage of a rickshaw was over near the food table. The dance floor was surrounded by LED fire lights. And near the entry, a glittery statue of a one-armed warrior woman stood watch over the dance. Just watching, though. Because it was a statue. It's not like inanimate objects would move.

Unlike that pile of glitter near the restrooms that seemed to be shifting a bit....

[OOC: You know what we've never had at a dance? An invasion. A "radioactive" Post-Glitterocalypse seems like a good time to change that, though. There's a thread in here where you can fight actual monsters made of glitter. They're limited in range a bit, so you can ignore them and go about your dance if you want to. But if you want to mod a glittery radroach getting on the dance floor with you, I'm not going to stop you.

Negasonic wasn't one for dances or socializing. However since she was on student council she felt obligated to show up. She even found a dress (http://wallpapersqq.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Brianna-Hildebrand-for-Android-iPhone.jpg) in her favorite color. Of course once she put it on it made her feel self-conscious so she was no doubt going to be tugging on it all night.

Dante's fancy dress this time around amounted to a tight red-and-black button-up with the sleeves shoved up, and a pair of black skinny jeans. Hey, why deviate too far from what worked?

He'd found some of Ada's old red body glitter and had streaked some along his neck and cheek for the hell of it. He was gonna pick up ambient glitter anyway; why fight it?

Cassandra had not bothered to wear a dress this time. Now that Garik was gone, she hardly saw the point.

But she arrived to the dance regardless. She had no real intention of staying long.

Lucille hadn't bought a new dress for this occasion, but she still quite liked the one she was wearing. These events were never quite to her taste, at least that was what she had come to expect, but nevertheless, here she was.

Isabela's outfit was almost sedate, considering some of the things she wore, but she felt the long, swishy, hooded cape made up for it.

Ahsoka was wearing the same thing she usually wore, because that's what happened when you only owned the one set of clothing.

Peridot had made a single concession to dressing up pretty for this dance; she'd tied the glittery gold ribbon that Ada had given her around her neck. She really didn't have any clothing besides, so this really was like dressing to the nines, for her.

She did find herself stopping in the doorway to admire the picture of the warrior woman. She looked fierce. Peridot approved.

Ada had put the finishing touches on her dress this morning, and she had to admit, she was pretty damn proud of it.

She'd added some shimmery blue, gold, and green body glitter over her scales and arms and let her riot of curls just fall free with some more gold glitter brushed in.

Hey, if Fandom was going to oblige her by making the entire theme of the dance 'glitter,' Ada was going to dress accordingly.

Tip hadn't actually originally planned to even come to the dance, but when she told her mom that her mom flipped out and insisted she had to go, it was a high school tradition, and didn't Tip want an excuse to dress up all fancy?

So to appease her distant mother, Tip went. Trying on dresses made her feel like she was going to church, though, so she was here in a snazzy black suit. Her mom had been disappointed when Tip sent her a selfie, but grudgingly admitted that Tip looked very nice in it, both of which only added to how much Tip enjoyed her chosen outfit.

Ezra showed up with glitter already in his hair and on his expensive-looking sleek suit. Because he knew how these things worked. And also what looked good on him.

He looked happy enough to be here, eyeing the crowd and playing Spot the Newbies.

It was a dress she'd worn before but Momoko was not bothered by that at all. It totally still fit (and Jaime had better NEVER contradict that statement, no matter that he'd seen her taking it out a little at the hips) and looked good on her!

"Ah! Every year they do it better!" She hugged Jaime's arm, excitedly. "All the glitter!!"

Jaime looked around, feeling just a bit awkward. On the one hand, it was kind of nice being back on the island. On the other hand? Everyone looked so young.

Though he had to admit that a little bit of age had its advantages. For one thing, he looked a lot less awkward in a suit and tie than he had as a high school student.

But the number of people here was scary, and she almost immediately made for a hiding place.

Commemorate the end of the world in glittery wonder! If anyone wanted to accessorize to fit the theme, there were varies bits of leather to borrow. Maybe you wanted a leather jacket (or just a vest) to go with the theme. Or maybe you wanted an eyepatch to finish your outfit off. (and protect at least one eye from the glitter!)

Yes, all of the leather also had rhinestones. Come on.

Frank was in charge of drinks, so there was a wide selection of options. Most of them weren't spiked, because that would imply that there was something besides alcohol in them. But for anyone who just wanted punch, there was a bowl of that, too, right next to the cocktail station.

There was also some food options which were outside of Frank's scope of work, except as garnishes.

Negasonic was immediately drawn over to the shadowy corner due to the lack of glitter, stopping only to grab a cocktail. From here she could safely drink, observe and mock as needed.

Monster Corner - Homecoming 2016

That pile of glitter near the restrooms kept moving. Slowly, throughout the night, it began to rise and form into something terrible. And then, suddenly, an eight foot tall Post-Glitterocalypse Glitter Monster was formed.


It wasn't too structurally sound since, you know, made entirely out of glitter. But it was able to summon more glitter creatures, essentially glittery radroaches (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Radroach) to attack. (They were also not too structurally sound.) And if hit these monsters hard enough to collapse the glitter, they'll reform in time. Damned glitter magic.

If you wanted to use the bathroom, you were going to have to fight for it.

The Glitter Monster was absolutely not eligible, but Zoe might have looked a little more glittery than usual as she came up to the microphone. "Good evening, everyone. I have the results of the Homecoming Court voting. Your freshman king and queen are Rufus Shinra and Tip Tucci, your sophomore king and queens are Roscoe Kaan, Peridot, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, your junior kings and queen are Dante, Hyacinthe, and Ahsoka, and your Homecoming King and Queen are Thorin and Isabela.
