From the Warehouse District to the Dorms, But Really Across The Island, Wednesday Morning

There was a flicker of something that passed over the warehouses early in the morning; some strange twisting in the air that warped them, changed them, and for a moment showed signs of rot. Walls that had stood proudly now laid collapsed, ivy and moss winding their way through the ruins.

Within, things shifted and moved, shadows of something more dangerous. A ringing pierced the silence, like a fine sword cutting through the air, and the shifting stilled.

A man in a red coat stalked out of the ruins, white hair framing the edges of his black-and-white mask. His hands were balanced on the edges of the sheath of a katana, slung across his shoulders.

The flicker ceased. The warehouse district returned to its old shape. But the man remained, walking, his feet hitting the pavement of the road as he made his way up Fandom's stairs. "That's great, it starts with an earthquake..."

There was another flicker elsewhere. He could see it from the corner of his eye. Across the way, by the docks, a brief glimpse of a familiar figure before Fandom's old status quo reasserted itself. "Birds and snakes, and aeroplanes..."

Beneath his feet, the cobblestone fickered from worn to well-kept to worn again. Something prowled along the road, but he paid it no heed. He did not stop until he saw Fandom's dorms, their integrity still intact. It had been a long time since he had seen them like this, but he wasn't lingering on that bar that it meant he did not yet have to act. He slid the katana back into its old location at his side. "And Lenny Bruce is not afraid..." A simple boost of a jump brought him up into a tree at the preserve.

He reached into something else, twisting the laws of physics, and pulled out a long rifle. He checked Spiral over carefully, but soon his eyes darted back towards the dorms.

Flicker. A shadow spooked past a dilapidated window, then was gone. "Eye of a hurricane..." he hummed, and began his watch.

There'd be worse soon, and the people at the school would need protection.

[[ thus begins the bde! Today will see increasing 'flickers' of the future world superimposing itself on current Fandom, for those of you who need a sign to get out of dodge - or would like to start playing their AU characters. the flickers will last longer and longer as the day progresses, until finally taking over at midnight.

... also, open for interaction ]]
