Tino had come in with his "I don't want to talk about it" attitude on today.

So naturally Kitty was trying to get him to talk about it, because she was curious and also bored.

Even more naturally Tino was doing his best to avoid her.

"Oh good, this place isn't overrun with old-timey folks today."

There were better greetings, but Mike didn't care.

"Are we not a fan of old timey folks?" She'd gotten them too, so she knew what he meant.

Mike shrugged, and there was something ever so slightly sheepish about his smile. "I'm not like... time-ist, or anything ––" Or whatever the hell the word for 'prejudiced against people from earlier time periods' should've been. "–– but it was sorta overwhelming when I was outnumbered."

Mike was adorable.

"I can see that. But they were nice and I think only a couple of them are still around, so that's gotta help, right?"

He tried his best.

"Yeah, kinda gathered a couple of them were just visiting." Mostly through very barkeep-like accidental eavesdropping. "Also I shouldn't bitch about it. At least my shift wasn't as quiet as it usually is."

"We could always throw a Saturday bar party and put you to work," Kitty half-teased.

"But then I'd have to work the party and not partake in the partying, and wouldn't that be sad?"

No, and also, that was inaccurate. But maybe he got points for his wordplay.

"You'd so be partying. That's what Tino's for."

At least it was when she threw the parties.

"Well, then, that's different," he decided. "'Cause I don't worry so much about whether Tino gets to party. He can party on his own time. If he even knows how."

"I don't think he does," Kitty said, lowering her voice. "Or at least he has this raging private life when we're not around. Which doesn't count."

"So does not count," Mike agreed. "So yeah, we should probably count on Tino to do all the work."

"Are we actually doing this?" she asked. "Because now I sort of want to."

Mike paused.

"You know what, we totally should." Hell, it wasn't like he had better things to be doing – and he was going to be here on Saturday anyway. "Saturday bar party."

"Saturday bar party," Kitty agreed. "Look, we were productive today."

Mike chuckled. "If you say this counts as productive, boss, I'm not gonna argue."
