Covent Garden Flowers, Wednesday

Peter was at work today, and for once wasn't working on new arrangements. He looked over and cleaned out the flowers, checked the paperwork, then set about preparing to ward the place. If he was going to be spending time here, he figured it would be a good idea.

It was a bit more complicated in a place you wanted strangers in, but he thought he'd gotten a good combination of them worked up, and now he was just ready to clean it out magically and set it up.

The sign in the window today read:

Please watch your step

Because he was chalking things out as a preliminary step, and they'd gotten too many peonies in the last shipment. It happened.

The peonies were exactly what Shiemi was visiting for! She was still worried about the blight that the seedlings had shown a few weeks ago.

"Hello, Octavian-san!" She called out to the store as she pushed open the door, Nii-chan on her shoulder. "It's Shiemi! I've come to check on the seedlings again, if you don't mind?"

"Please," Peter said, nodding at her. "Just watch your step. They're not real yet, but these'll be some new wards for the shop. What do you think?"

He was curious if any of it would look familiar to her.

Shiemi had stepped forward without looking... and found herself in the middle of a magic circle. "Ah!" She jumped back, careful not to mess up any of the lines. "I'm sorry! I didn't know."

"What for?" She knelt to trace the chalk lines, trying to see if she could identify the symbols.

Peter grinned at her. "That's okay. Like I said, they're not real yet. I just want to get them all laid out properly first. Just for protection," he answered her question. "Keeping people from doing harm, or warning us they mean it, anyway. Keeping out bad magic. Hopefully giving the place a calm, happy aura, too, though that's a little iffier."

Hell didn't teach a lot of those sorts of magic.

"Not activated? Oh. You haven't chanted them yet." Shiemi nodded. "Can I help? I know some and I do need to practice. Ah! Are you going to put up anti-demon ones, then?"

"NiIIii?!" exclaimed the little Greenman, surprised at the idea.

[I swear I posted this last night!! Now I know why I got no pingback. *kicks LJ*

"Not anti-demon," Peter said, "just anti-harm. I understand there are some decent demons around, and isn't he," he nodded to Nii, "one, too? I don't want to keep him out."

Why do I not have a flower crown icon for this guy? I totally should.
