Eliot was in a disgustingly good mood at the diner today. Enough so that his response to all the yelling Kanan got up to on the radio was just to snort and chuckle to himself. He wasn't even mad at the day old pancakes the dishwasher and busboy were flinging at each other in the kitchen when things got slow.

Then one of them went off course and smacked Eliot in the back of the head.

The entire diner went silent. Eliot picked the pancake up off the floor and looked at it. He looked at the busboy, who was cowering behind the dishwasher.

Then he threw it back and went back to doing what he was doing.

The diner continued to be silent.

"What?" Eliot asked. "They're just havin' fun."

The way the serving staff kept trying to subtly check him for a fever the rest of the day got kind of irritating, though.
