The Perk, Friday Afternoon

Minako's portal had dumped her off near the center of town, so she'd gone to get something to drink before heading over to Sparkle's. Because tea was soothing to the soul, thank you, and she was pretty sure if she had one now, and then got two to go, and made Sparkle drink one, that it was the start of a solid 'make Sparkle stop panic-cycling' plan.

So it was one blonde bouncing girl chattering at the barista a mile a minute, only occasionally needing to stop and try to fish for a word, until her tea was ready and she could take a seat in a nice, cozy nook, and people-watch while waiting to hear that Sparkle was back. She wasn't just going to wander up into his place until he was back from making kissy-faces.

And yes, she knew where he was. Goddess of Love. Also, super-nosy BFF.

She'd answer her phone once it started ringing, but otherwise she was just going to be really really happy at being back in Fandom for a weekend.

By the time Sparkle got back from Arrakis, he was in a much better mood. Better still to know that he had something to look forward to on the island, too. He was reasonably sure he'd have time to grab a coffee and do some cleaning (not that the apartment needed any cleaning, but this was Sparkle, and he was inclined to overthink everything right now) before Minako showed u--

"Oh shit, did I take that long?"

Minako looked up from where she'd been fidgetting with her phone, a relieved smile breaking out over her face.

"Nope, my portal just had time-travel, apparently? I mean, besides the usual time-zone stuff because I left Japan on Saturday. Though I'll forgive the gnomes their screw-up this time." She held up a to-go cup for him. "Tea?"

Sparkle blinked, trying to process the idea that Minako was both here and in Japan at right this very moment.

"We should give you a call and tell you to bring Pocky when you come," he joked, and then shrugged and slipped into the seat across from hers, smiling and reaching for the tea. "Hey, thanks. Tea's a good choice. The last thing I need is to be more wound-up."

Though he was doing better after his little trip, so that was good.

"I already brought Pocky, so we're set there," she joked, pointing at her backpack for the weekend. "Yeah, no coffee for you, or Red Bull. We might eat a ton of sugar, but I'm gonna make you have some healthy things, too."

"Between you and me? I could probably spend the whole weekend sulking into like a trough of blueberries or something," Sparkle admitted. "I'm pretty sure getting me to eat healthy won't be all that difficult."

He just hadn't had the energy to do much in the way of cooking since last weekend, either.
