Dani stumbled into work wearing the same graphic tee and sweatpants she slept in last night. Her hair was a tangled mess. She'd at least managed to swap her fuzzy slippers for sneakers because going around a barn without proper footwear was a bad idea. She also stopped at J,GOB and the Perk along the way, because she was toting an extra-large blended coffee drink and enough donuts to put her into a sugar coma.

Kally tried to make a play for one of the donuts -- she had a habit of stealing human food -- but Dani cut her off. "Uh-uh. Donuts will make you sick. And since that veterinarian I was seeing dumped me last night, I don't have anyone to call when you get sick," said Dani. "I should work on that," she added, stepping into her office and grabbed a note pad. "To do: find a new large-animal vet and get myself a cat, because apparently I'm going to be one of those old ladies who remains single and has millions of cats."

The Gig was open. Maybe paying customers could help Dani shake off her post-breakup malaise.
