Kenzi was pestering her bestie via phone. As ya do.

"So, I'll get the staff to make anything you want, come on in. Tear yourself away from the Chair of Relaxation. And your proximity to the janitorial staff. You guys are good with me sacrificing you on the altar of Bo, right?"

Reactions were mixed, but some of them might have sounded okay with that.

Because apparently Kenzi is playing video games on the order system now. Well, Hardison was the one to set it up...

Cecil hadn't talked to Kenzi in a while, so he picked up the phone and called. He was determined not to lose touch with old friends.

"Luke's Diner, we're on fire to serve you!"

"Well," Cecil said, feeling dapper, "how's my best ex-wife?"

"Cecil!" Kenzi squeaked in delight. "Needing a drink, to be honest. The Island is going all staticky and short-attention-span today. How's life treating you?"

"Oh," Cecil sighed, "colorful? Sort of head-hurty? Not too bad, though. But I was thinking of you, so I thought I'd say hi! What's the island doing?"

"Changing my hair color and wigs at random without me doing anything," Kenzi complained. "Which would usually be fun, but once every three minutes or less is getting to be a bit much, you know? And it's the same for everyone else. I think half the staff have switched clothes with each other and gotten randomly older and younger in the last hour." She frowned. "Have you got some aspirin? Tylenol? Have you been out drinking with Night Vale people or something?"

"Mostly just hanging out with ♥Carlos♥ Cecil said, though he sounded teenaged again. The island's influence? Night Vale? Just Cecil? Who could tell? "Don't worry, it's nothing serious. Gone already! Probably just residual winds from Radon Canyon."

"That place," Kenzi said in distaste, noting another hair color change with a sigh. "How is Caaaarlos? Aside from perfect?" She snickered, and added, "You sound about fourteen whenever you talk about him, you know."

"Do I?" He didn't now. "Well, he is perfect. And we're living together now - or were we before? It's so hard to tell, time being an artificial construct and all. What about you, any new, totally adorable and dashing men to take my place?"

"Awww, no. Nobody can take your place! You're my first ex-husband." Kenzi grinned. " Nobody worth mentioning, really. I go out dancing with friends and meet random guys sometimes, but nobody worth taking home to meet the cat and the bestie." Seriously, a guy would have to be pretty great for her to introduce him to Bo. "We'll see what happens this summer-- no big plans, but there's always new teachers to mess with. And possibly hit on."

Foucault took over the phone and honked at Kenzi. He missed her, too!

"Well, good luck." Cecil grinned. "Do I need to throw some cute boys your way?"

"Um, always!" Kenzi said, then swished the katana suddenly in her hand. "...preferably tough ones, 'cause the way things are going today, they might get intimidated totally on accident."

"That just means you have to try harder to do it on purpose," Cecil said. "Or find someone else."

Another pop pop pop sound, and Kenzi said, "Hang on, something's on fire again."

After a good bit of shouting and the spraying of a fire extinguisher, she said, "Well, maybe. Maybe I'll got out with an eye to finding someone this weekend. I'll keep you posted on the results."

"I want all the juicy details!" Cecil declared. "Well, I mean - about the chase and any dates. Not the actual juicy stuff."

I am so glad that I got to this before the end of the day! *cackling and uploading all the icons!*
