Devil's Nest, Monday
Verity stood behind the bar, mouth bound with a strip of duct tape, and more tape wrapped around her wrists which were tied in front of her. She cocked a blond eyebrow at Tiny, who was grinning fit to kill, the roll of duct tape in his hands. An Aeslin mouse in a surplice decorated with eraser pieces and bird bones stood on the bar, its tiny paws resting lightly on a stopwatch.
"Okay!" it declared, voice high and reedy. "The Pact has been Sealed! Hail! The Arboreal Priestess must Free Herself from her Bonds before Two Minutes Has Elapsed or her Evenings Will Be Forfeit for Twp Weeks!" Behind the gag, Verity rolled her eyes but nodded. "And does the Arboreal Priestess Indeed Triumph, there will be Silence in the Bar for the Next Week! Hail!"
This time it was Tiny who rolled his eyes, but he also nodded.
"On your mark...get set...HAIL!"
One minute and twenty-seven seconds later, Verity was smirking at an astonished Tiny. "Look, amateur hour, you bound my hands in front of me. And duct tape is terrible for tying someone up. I would have been done faster, but I didn't feel like losing skin." She grabbed the duct tape from him before he could react and pulled off a decent length. "Man, I'm going to love the peace and quiet around this place."
