This weeks shipment had come in late and Taako refused to open it out of principle. If it was gonna be late coming in, then he was gonna be late putting it out.

He was there.

"Free donut?" Magnus asked rather than say hello. Why say hello to people you knew? Or didn't know. It was like introducing yourself being a thing they Just Didn't Do.

"I was gonna charge like five gp's for it, but for you I'll make an exception." Because it was a half eaten donut among friends.

"Aw yeah," Magnus said, taking that half eaten donut that would hopefully have the magic power of that mystery ~~Cheerwine~~ drink Merle had that one time.

No such luck.

"I'll bring you an extra frappacino next time."

"Of course you will." Because that's just who Magnus was. "It's jelly filled, enjoy."

"Awesome," he replied. But, honestly, it was muffled by the fact that he shoved the rest of the donut into his mouth.

"I haven't really been impressed with the cooking here." Aside from the frapps. The delicious frapps.

"...were you thinking about making some of those macarons?" Magnus asked, perking up a little.

Because the fact that they were some baller cookies was one of the things he could trust Lucretia on.

"Possibly for Candle Nights," Taako said evenly, though he still was iffy about cooking for people. It didn't matter that he knew the forty deaths weren't his fault. "Do they even do that here?"

"Nah, they've got a bunch of random holidays. Didn't even get a Mid-Summer festival. Just that one with the fireworks." He judged it. He judged it harshly. "We can still celebrate Candle Nights, though. If we're still here."

Hope you wanted something duck themed, Taako.

"I think I might go crazy before then," Taako said dramatically. "Death by boredom."

"Yeah, no training, no adventures..." No loot. "It's weird."

"Super weird," he agreed. "I though I'd enjoy this but...I almost miss fearing for my life."

"We could see if there are any jobs on the mainland of this place. Maybe they've got another Craig's List posted somewhere..."

They were going to end up on the run from the cops. That's what would happen. And Taako would need to roll some fucking high charisma checks to get them out of it.

"That has helped us before." Though Taako had no idea that Craig's List here wasn't an actual list. "Just a small job where we could take stuff."

That was called burglary here.

It was probably called burglary back home too, but they never let that bother them.

"Yeah," Magnus replied. "I'll see what I can find. Nothing too dangerous since we don't have our healer."

The expression on his face was one of trying to hold back giggles. Because Merle and healing.

Well Taako didn't hold back the laughing. At all. "Oh man, good one!"

They were the worst teammates ever because Magnus beamed at that.

"Ooo, maybe they have some bounty hunter stuff. We could get cool jackets and stuff."

"Like some kind of rough and tumble club?"

"Hell yeah!"

Nothing said dangerous like matching leather jackets.

"As long as the jackets aren't ugly I can get behind that." Because Taako screamed "rough and tumble".

Magnus looked tough enough for the both of them. Just as long as there wasn't a dog nearby.

Then he was a marshmallow.

"You can pick the jackets as long as they're not glittery. Well. Not too glittery."

"You're acting like you had a choice in the jackets in the first place." Which was kind of hilarious.

"I get a say!" He really didn't, but he was gonna try.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, my dude," Taako said with a wave of his hand.

"Can mine at least have some cool ripped off sleeves?" Wait, why didn't that sound right? "No, wait. I just won't wear a shirt under the jacket."

That sounded better for some reason.

"What if you get stabbed?" Taako asked. Think of your armor stats!

"But it'd look so cool!" But Taako was right about needing to keep his AC up in a fight. "We need to find someone who can actually cast buffs."

"A healer than actually does his job would be nice." And life saving.

"We'll bring extra potions along to be safe." Also because Taako had access to the shipments of them.

Which was sweet.
