Furnado Animal Shelter, Saturday
So, there were monsters falling from the sky.
That was really all Zack needed to know. Before the storm had hit, he'd brought the chickens into the shelter, which on its own had been an adventure, so at least he didn't have to worry about those. Sort of. So long as the sharks stayed... out.
That was where Zack paying a visit to the animal shelter came in. The wind was vicious, the rain was pelting down at him, and he didn't notice. Nor did he care. He was lauging as he leapt here and there, slashing at the sharks, throwing huge shards of ice at them and burning through his magic reserves like the world was ending.
Which, in fairness, around here, it absolutely could be. It didn't matter. For the first time in years, he was in his element.

Peter dodged around a corner, saw Zack, and took a moment just to figure out how that insanely large sword even worked. And hey, someone else that knew magic.
He threw a bolt of force at a shark to one side, nodded at Zack, and saluted him with his sword. "Having fun?"
no subject
And expertly cleaving sharks in two. As you do.
"How about that weather, huh?"

Earth animals were weird.
no subject
"But they usually stay in the sea!" he protested, blasting another with lightning.

no subject
"Usually."

"Isn't Fandom on Earth?"

He threw out a hand, and even through the rain and win, a huge fireball engulfed a shark, leaving nothing but a charred husk in its wake.

Hey, it was sometimes hard to be sure, with Fandom.
"This place is weird, wherever these things are coming from."
no subject
A shark wearing a ruff tumbled by, shouting, "Why, he was met even now
As mad as the vexed sea, singing aloud -" before it started singing, "Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside..."
Peter just watched it tumble in a circle around them and back out to sea and shook his head.
no subject
".... So, not one of the Earth ones?"
Just making certain.

Zack threw off another blast of Firaga, and then shook his head a little.
"Then wherever it was from was weird, too."
no subject
...and was singing as he went flying through the air over a strange land city.
"No, sorry - you're right. Also weird."
no subject
no subject
Was that weird, Zack?

He did blink once or twice before shrugging and sending another fireball at a shark as it came at Peter from behind.
"Yep," he agreed, grinning a little. "I'd say I definitely do."
no subject
"What you're doing doesn't feel like magic," he noted. "Where's the power coming from?"
no subject
He was possibly not the best one to ask about the intricacies of materia, or about the process that had turned him into a member of SOLDIER. But he had some idea, sort of, about how it all worked.
"Maybe when we're not being bombarded with monsters, I'll let you take a better look at what I use, but now's not exactly a great time."
no subject
Peter launched himself with magic this time, keeping his form as he flew up and plummeted down, stabbing through another shark and pushing off to get high enough to slice through a second before coming down on a third with a crunch.
no subject
The whole process was a little trickier than he'd hoped, mind, given the weather, and when he came back down again he had to throw himself into a shoulder roll to compensate.
"Maybe I keep my feet on the ground after all," he decided, squinting back up at the oncoming sharks.
no subject
A large one got closer, and he brought his hands together, pulling lightning from the air to strike it. In this weather, that was much easier.
no subject
He'd just watched the guy turn into a bird. He was pretty sure that wasn't how he worked.

He found himself with a few seconds to survey the damage so far, and then shook his head.
"Man-oh-man," he sighed. "I'm going to have to rebuild that chicken enclosure."
Since about half of it had blown away.

As well as everything else.
Zack was planning on staying here until the storm blew over to make certain it stayed that way, too.

no subject
And could continue to do so, easily, for the next couple of days, if need be.

Turning, he ran toward the noise.
