Caritas- Tuesday

There was good news and bad news. The good news was that the renovation on the bar was really getting somewhere, after weeks of working on it to a near-obsessive degree. They had a roof again, they had new floor, the walls were repaired, and today they were getting a new bar and furniture delivered!

The bad news was, they didn't arrive and get started until late, so the bar itself was still half-constructed and was unable to be used.

Normally Kitty might've closed for the night, but with all this work she really needed the revenue, and so she stuck paper arrows on the floor directing patrons to where she and Toni were set up at a folding table in the back room, with all the glasses and liquor set on another table. It was a very "family shower on a budget" aesthetic, but shut up and get a drink.

Yeah, Liam wasn't going to complain. A drink was a drink, after all.

"I don't know what I was expecting given last time I was in here there was still a hole in the roof, but hey. You're making it work," he said as he took in the back room setup.

"It's a work in serious progress," Kitty said. "And I feel a little like I'm at a lemonade stand."

"Hopefully with something a little bit stronger than lemonade," Liam said, eyeing the selection.

"There's definitely stuff to harden up lemonade. Also, I don't have lemonade," Kitty said. "What can I get you?"

"Something tropical," Liam decided after a moment. "Little paper umbrella optional."

"Tino, can you get the paper umbrellas?" Kitty asked, grabbing a glass. "How's a pina colada sound?"

[firstofitskind]

"Better than getting caught in the rain," Liam said reflexively, and then furrowed his brow a bit, not quite sure where that response had come from.

Kitty laughed and started getting the drink together. "I needed that," she said. "So how're things?"

"I've been getting a lot of calls complaining about 'the weefee'?" Liam shrugged. "All from the same person. I'm still not... entirely sure what she wants me to do about it?"

"The... weefee?" Kitty frowned. "What's a weefee?"

"Your guess is as good as mine. One of the Troopers thinks she might mean something called wifi?"

[throughaphase]

"Oh! The internet connection," she said, brightening. "Why would someone call the trooper station about that?"

"She was... concerned. That the waves were harming her cats." Liam deadpanned.

[throughaphase]

"Tell her to turn her router off and back on again and that should stop it," she suggested, passing over the drink.

[firstofitskind]

"... I can't believe I didn't think to try telling her that," Liam said with a laugh.
