She's indulging her sweet tooth today. Don't expect her to share.

Not even with her sort-of-niece?

"What kind of diner serves Cheerios?"

Cassie maybe should have warned someone she was coming. But where was the fun in that?

Well, Family was always an exception, duh. Especially younger sassy family.

"The kind I'm in charge of today. Hi!" Parker dropped off her perch above one of the booths, and bounced off the seat to land in front of Cassie. "What are you doing here? When did you get here? Does Eliot know?"

Cassie's eyes went fractionally wider, and she shot a quick glance at the ceiling to see if anyone else was lurking up there.

"Visiting, just now, and I have no idea, but he seems like he's kind of a ninja so maybe." She tilted her head. "Though now I'm wondering if you're the actual ninja."

"Eliot's more of a ronin," Parker said, then added, "But I like ninjas. Better than pirates. Do you want some of the brownies?" She looked around for some wait-staff, and added, "I'm glad you're here! You can see our new place."

"Ronin. Yeah, I can see that. And you know I've never seen the old place, right? Not any more than the immediate background when Uncle Eliot skypes."

He didn't skype very often. It was clearly too advanced for him.

"There was a sharknado. It trashed the diner too, but now we have better windows." Parker grinned and said, "We decorated the place so now it's more *our* place, and not just Eliot's. And Eliot will be thrilled you're visiting."

Assuming Cassie's Mom knew where she was, anyway.

"Of course he will," Cassie said. "I'm amazing." Her smile faded slightly. "Hopefully Kathy and Hardison will be happy, too."

Her newly returned uncle had come with a lot of extra family.

"They have their own place. And their own roommates." Parker was ready to be Firm about that, although not quite sure how. "They'll be worried you won't like them. Which is stupid, 'cause you're all awesome."

"Wait, Hardison doesn't live with you guys?"

"Kathy and Raven do." Parker didn't even register as Hardison not being part of that. Or having a chance of being upset. "You're worried about Hardison? Seriously?"

Cassie, what were you smoking on the flight to D.C.?

Cassie shrugged. "I've only met you guys a couple times. And, you know, I didn't warn you I was coming. I can put myself up in the hotel, you don't have to worry about that part."

"I think Eliot will be actually insulted if you try," Parker said, diverted at that idea. "And Hardison will be care-taking. Taking care. He does that. He's way better at it than I am." She leaned over the counter to retrieve some brownies, and held them out to Cassie while taking one for herself. "But I'm learning. I'm glad you came to visit."

Cassie took the brownie. "Okay. If you insist. I'm glad I came, too."

YAY IT IS FRIDAY!
