The Perk- Saturday morning

Jag had come onplanet with Jaina, since sometimes they both needed a break and this was the closest things had been to the way they used to be since the whole emperor thing happened, but he was still stuck in the hotel on the mainland comming into daily briefings. Luckily he was also the kind of guy who had no problem with his sleeping kids being left with him during meetings so his wife could go get coffee.

So Jaina was here by herself today, which she didn't mind at all. In fact, she'd ordered two of the largest coffees because she knew she'd go through them both. One was even accidentally pumpkin spice, and she didn't even care.

"Hi!" Anakin said, smiling as he came into the shop. "Where are the small ones?"

"At the hotel with Jag, sleeping. Because they pretty much didn't all night," Jaina said, toasting with her coffee before taking a sip.

[sith_happened]

"So those are both for you?" Anakin guessed.

[solo_sword]

"Yeah. Sorry," she said sheepishly. "I need them to live."

[sith_happened]

"I remember that stage," Anakin said with a grin. "I don't miss it. Though Christopher woke us up today by informing me there was a bug in his bed. Rory made me go kill it." He rolled his eyes. "It was a gnat. I honestly don't know how he even saw it."

[solo_sword]

"I'll trade you," Jaina offered.

[sith_happened]

"No," Anakin said. "Your boys are adorable, but no."

[solo_sword]

Jaina sighed heavily.

"Anyway, how are you?"

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin said. "I went to Austria with the school trip. I am not immediately amazing at skiing, so I spent most of the trip drinking hot chocolate."

[solo_sword]

"...I'm trying to imagine you skiing. Are there pictures?" Jaina asked.

[sith_happened]

"No," Anakin said, "and I don't think there are any of the extremely bad idea of a bunch of teachers drinking schnapps together, either."

[solo_sword]

"Is this like the time in Hawaii when we all had drinks and read terrible fanfic about ourselves?"

Yes, she remembered that.

[sith_happened]

"Yes, only this time we got drunk and played I Never and I learned a lot of my colleagues have action figures of themselves," Anakin said.

[solo_sword]

"Somehow not surprising, actually," Jaina admitted. "Did anyone try to steal any exotic animals this time?"

[sith_happened]

"Not since Cade left," Anakin said. "We've got either a smarter or less felonious crop right now."

[solo_sword]

"Possibly both," Jaina said. "I wonder how Jaina the camel's doing, anyway..."

[sith_happened]

Anakin burst out laughing. "I'd blocked that poor thing from my memory."

[solo_sword]

"Strangely, I have not," Jaina laughed.

[sith_happened]

"Well, you had a special connection, clearly," Anakin said, laughing and grabbing his own coffee before returning to the table.

[solo_sword]

"Clearly," she said dryly, and waited for him to come back before saying, "So did I tell you about the Jedi school yet?"

[sith_happened]

"No!" Anakin said, sounding interested. "Tell me."

[solo_sword]

"The Council actually okayed us to open a school out in the Empire," she said. "Tahiri and I are going to be running it, we're in the middle of getting everything set up."

Jaina's life had not turned out as expected, no.

[sith_happened]

"Pretty sure my head would've exploded if you'd said this to me five years ago," Anakin said, laughing. "That sounds wonderful. Let me know if I can help in any way."

[solo_sword]

"Things did get really weird these last few years," she agreed. "Thanks. Any idea on how to make people want to go to school in the Empire?"

[sith_happened]

"Maybe just tell them the planet it's on and not mention exactly where it's located?" Anakin suggested.
