Zack sighed as he sat perched on the counter at Furnado today. He'd wanted to take the day off; Halloween only came around once a year, after all, and once the animals were fed and played with he could generally leave things to the Igors to take care of for the day without hearing much complaint. But animals in need of new homes waited for no holiday, and now he had cages full of rats, bats, owls, and black cats to sort out, and a whole shipment of large beetles, newts, toads, and snakes, if anybody preferred something a little less cuddly to keep company with.

It was basically a zoo in here. But at least the cats were friendly, even to a large werewolf like him. They kept crawling up into his mane and batting at his ears, and were giving his dog, Girl, a similarly difficult time.

So, overall, he wasn't too upset about having to work on Halloween.

Well. Maybe still a little.
