Luke's, Sunday
"Peppermint cotton candy pancakes," Kanan said dubiously.
The cook shrugged. Apparently they had a lot of the sugary stuff left over from yesterday. They had to use it somehow.
Kanan figured he'd let it slide. Just this once. At least nobody was making them kiss fish today.
Today's Specials:
Peppermint Cotton Candy Pancakes
Peppermint Cotton Candy Martini
Peppermint Cotton Candy
Kanan was going to spend his day sneaking bags of peppermint cotton candy in the hopes that they ran out before the staff started putting it on burgers or something.

made it near her computer on a sunday whaaaat?came in with the usual cursory glance toward the specials board to see if anything might detract from her usual Sunday lunch, and this week got a good snort out of her when she sat down."Where do they come up with this stuff?" she asked, even though she probably didn't really want to know.

A pause. And then a glance toward the kitchen.
"There was a lot of extra."

There were milkshake options. Which was proabably a good thing, because if he didn't have something that wasn't peppermint cotton candy to eat soon, he was going to regret every life choice he'd ever made.
no subject
"You're welcome!" she added, calling back to the kitchen because, in her mind, that was clearly the most brilliant idea that would come out of their peppermint cotton candy experimentations.
no subject
"They'll owe you one," he decided. "If this turns out, they might have to keep a stock of peppermint cotton candy just so that they can make these milkshakes."
These milkshakes that could rot teeth simply by existing.
no subject
As if he would want to see peppermint cotton candy in the first place.

"I think I followed about half of that," Kanan confessed with a little huff of a laugh. "I guess I'm just not an economist."
And he'd also never encountered a McDonald's in his life.
"But I'll try just about anything once, so..." He reached for the milkshakes as they were passed to them, then slid one across the counter toward Summer. "Cheers?"
no subject
"Oh, man, that is sweet."
And Summer sugar-bomb-frappiccino over here saying something was sweet was saying a lot.
But it was clearly not a bad thing since she went right back to drinking more.
"You know," she mused, "this is almost like one of my jello creations except, you know, actually edible."
no subject
"Wait, you mean those things weren't meant to be eaten?"
Kanan ate-the-jello-mold Jarrus as also occasionally a man of questionable food standards.
no subject
Which he probably was going to give to the first person who wanted it, but whatever.

"We could probably find a good place to set you up with something like that," he admitted. "Between Hera and I, we've been around the galaxy enough that we can probably pick a good planet for you to settle down on. Hell, we could just take you for a grand tour and let you choose somewhere yourself."
Coruscant would be perfect for that.
It was a shame Kanan was never going to go anywhere near Coruscant ever again.

Well. Huh.
"You know, you're right?" He tilted his head and looked at her thoughtfully. "Tell you what. Pick any day of the week except Friday or Sunday, and I can shove you into the Escape and we can go for a joyride. Unless Hera's willing to take us in the Ghost, anyway."
Or, hell, if she'd even let them borrow the Phantom. The Escape did not have a cockpit designed with more than one person in mind.

The Ghost was a nicer ship than the Escape was.

"That's fair enough, I guess," she said, because, yes, if Miss Hera came, she was going to ask her, too, because man, there was a new goal, getting behind a ship like Ghost. Probably in a million years, unless her hunch about jello in space turned out to be right on track and she could just buy her own.
Enough pipe dreams for now, she had to seize this opportunity while she could. "Do you think we could pull it off in an afternoon?" she asked. "Thursday sounds good, but I do have classes in the morning. And I definitely have to be back by Friday. I guess back by Friday's not as important, I could probably get away with missing that class, and Art on Thursday, but I don't want to miss adventuring class, it's the only place I get to wear my sweet ass armor. I mean, I guess I could wear that in space, too. They gave me a helm that constantly tells me how awesome I am."
Thanks, RNG, you created a monster with that one.
"I mean, they're just classes though, too, so..."
no subject
"There are teachers I had when I was a kid who would never forgive me if I didn't at least pretend to be admonishing over a phrase like 'just classes,'" he shared. "And besides, I have lessons I have to teach on Friday afternoon, myself. I don't think looking at real estate is going to take that long."
He hoped looking at real estate wasn't going to take that long.
no subject
And an afternoon might be good for real estate, but probably not an adventure, but, hey, maybe she just needed to take baby steps.
"Thursday it is, then. After Art class, if we must."
no subject
"I insist," he replied, smirking just a little. "Get your art class out of your system, and then we can leave this system. Find some inhabited planet or moon or asteroid or whatever somewhere and... I don't know. See what the locals think of jello and shrimp."
no subject
Really, there wasn't anything more she could say about it. Except, of course, "Thanks. You won't regret it."
...he would probably regret it.
no subject
"Do you really want me to hold you to that?"
Kanan often found reason to regret many things that happened in his life.
