On the bright side, it seemed like today might pass by without a phone call from either the Bee Lady OR Secret Tunnels Guy.
On the not-so-bright side, the day started with a gremlin hauling in another gremlin who appeared to have been hogtied.
"He's made a citizen's arrest," Calvin informed Liam dryly.
"...Why?"
The non-tied-up gremlin gurgled something in reply. Liam didn't exactly speak Gremlin, but the little guy did manage an indignant-sounding "No bitey," in English.
"I'm sorry," Liam said, "while I understand it does go against your cultural values, I can't put someone in jail for refusing to bite anyone."
"Bah!"
"You're going to have to let him go," Liam pointed out.
"Bah!" the arresting gremlin looked for a moment as if he were seriously considering biting someone, anyone in the station in retaliation for not arresting the non-bitey gremlin. But apparently gremlins did have decent higher reasoning skills, as he took in the fact that everyone in the station was armed. "Hrmph," he grumbled, and untied the other gremlin, before shoving it back out the door.
