Demon Marcus, Sunday
Sparkle did not give a flying flip about the Superbowl. He just didn't. For one, it wasn't like the NFL had Canadian teams the same way the NHL, MLB, or the NBA did. Granted, the MLB and NBA only had one Canadian team each, but they were both Toronto, so he kind of had a vested interest, there.
Not so with football. And besides, football players wore so much damn padding that he couldn't even really get a small, guilty thrill out of watching them be all athletic at one another. Just not his thing.
What was his thing? Well, today his thing was 'slipping into the upstairs apartment of the building for a few moments at a time to kind of scream into the abyss between bouts of manic studying.'
Him. Studying. Despite Karina's best efforts, and despite some of his own for that matter, Sparkle hadn't exactly figured out great study habits back in high school. He'd managed enough to at least get some mathematics knowledge under his belt, which he was thankful for now that he was trying to learn the technical aspects of costume creation, but that didn't mean he didn't have a short attention span to contend with, and it didn't stop him from feeling like everything he was reading kept going in one ear and right back out the other again.
His brain was melting.
Maybe he'd just dress up the mannequins in feather boas and silk pyjamas and put them in ridiculous poses in the window display, instead...

That said, he was sending her another picture of the ceiling, now with one more pencil. And then going quiet for a while as he worked his way through another page.

I might have to go over this a few times first. But the breaks are kind of helping take the edge off, I think? I'm freaking out less.

Also, Great cat, by the way.

THe parts of the internet that weren't porn, generally.
Thanks for talking me through this, by the way. Drawing sexy wolf men is way more my speed than sitting down and memorizing a timeline of technical developments in the creation of period stage costumes in modern America.
He was learning so much about velcro, though.

Okay, that sentiment wasn't working out in her favor at all but that didn't make it less true for anyone else.

He couldn't think of a situation where someone was going to come asking for something super elaborate that they could still do a ten-second quick-change in, but that didn't stop him from wanting to try, regardless.

That's the thing, isn't it? Like, at this point, I might as well just try to learn anything that interests me, because it's going to come up again eventually. Probably.
The odds said yes, anyway.

So weird.

You're well on your way, Sparkle!

BUT he'd be an old man who could totally decide to have ice cream for supper without having to worry about anybody getting on his case about it, so there were totally some trade-offs there.
no subject
Or a wise old man, whatever.

Sparkle's experience with people he used to think of as 'wise' never seemed to end up well in the end.

They'd probably question you less if you stopped burning things down, Sparkle.

It helped that she didn't know about all the arson.
I have to get to my next meeting. Remember: page, then pencil, and don't put an eye out.

And then, for good measure, Sparkle followed that up with another picture of a cat.
He had a whole folder of the things.
