Tiny sauntered in wearing a leprecaun outfit and sequinned green shoes.

"St. Patrick's Day was Saturday," Verity reminded.

Apparently Tiny didn't care.

"You look ridiculous," she added.

Tiny just shrugged and grinned.

"...This is all so we can make it 'Half-Priced Beer' day the way the day after Valentine's is 'Half-Priced Chocolate,' isn't it?"

This time Tiny gave her finger guns and Verity had to remind herself not to break his hands.

"That would still be Sunday, not today," she pointed out.

Tiny's disappointed expression was so funny, Verity was willing to give the discount. After she finished laughing at him.

Liam was giving Tiny so much side eye as he came in and sat at the bar, thank you.

"Please tell me the beer isn't green," he pleaded.

"Tiny tried to smuggle some green food coloring into the bar, but I stopped him," Verity assured Liam with a grin for her most favorite customer. "He stopped sulking about it maybe ten minutes ago. So, you know, good timing."

"And that's why you're my favorite bartender," Liam declared. And it wasn't even a lie! It wasn't the number one reason, but 'puts a stop to Tiny's shenanigans' was definitely on the list.

It was also going to be the main reason she'd be hitting up Eric for a raise. Dealing with Tiny's nonsense deserved another buck-fifty an hour. At least.

"And here I was thinking it had something with how I always remember your favorite beer," Verity said, pouring the bottle into a chilled glass and pushing it over in front of him.

"I have a list," Liam admitted. "That's on it too."

"Oooh, now I'm gonna have to ask what else is on it," Verity said, leaning in and giving him a smile.

"Mmm," Liam hummed, giving Verity a thoughtful look. "Doesn't take Tiny's shit, remembers my beer, has a ridiculous arsenal on her person at all times," because of course he'd find that attractive. "Excellent..." he trailed off, "Conversationalist."

"Awww, no appreciation for my physical attributes?" Verity asked, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "I'm a hell of dancer, dammit."

She leaned over until she was just a breath away. "And I hear I'm a damn good kisser, too."

"Now that you mention it, I have heard something to that effect..." Liam murmured.

"You know, they say it's best to never rely on secondhand sources when you can verify it for yourself," she murmured.

"Oh, well, if they say so," Liam said solemnly, before leaning forward to 'independently verify' that claim.

She approved of his scientific rigor. And his ability to kiss her silly.

"I think they have a point," she said when she finally pulled away.

"Agreed," Liam concurred. "I'm moving that to the top of the list."

No, Tiny, this absolutely did not mean Liam had any interest in investigating how good a kisser you said you were.

Verity turned towards Tiny, ostentatiously pulling one of her knives a good three inches out of its sheath and giving him a direct look. Tiny held up his hands and backed off.

"That's not gonna get me arrested, is it Sheriff?" Verity asked, turning back to Liam with a lazy grin. "I'm just saying, I have some friends in the department."

"What's not gonna get you arrested?" Liam said, giving her a wide-eyed look. "I didn't see anything."

"That I'm so cute it's criminal," Verity said, blinking innocently. "What else could I mean?"

"Right, of course," Liam said with a nod. "Well, it may be criminal but it's not an arrestable offense."

[arboreal_priestess]

"Probably for the best," Verity admitted. "Because otherwise I've got a joke about handcuffs that Tiny absolutely does not need to hear."
