Lukes, Tuesday
Mitsutada had missed some work days, so he was a little off his game when it came to dealing with the regular Luke's staff.
Then again, with the new danshi he'd had to deal with back at the Citadel, he was just grateful none of them were trying to strip at any excuse.
Today's Specials
Salmon Sashimi
Tuna Sashimi
Unagi Sashimi
He was, perhaps, phoning it in a little today.
Luke's was open!and OCD-free

"Heya," she said, waving a hand at the fellow behind the counter while she took a seat there. She took one cursory glance toward the specials board, realized she didn't recognize most of those words, and quickly added, "What's good today?"

She tried not to sound to judgmental about it; after all, she wasn't the cook here (nor anywhere, really). But by her estimation, being a cook meant something was...you know...cooked. She was also the type to try to grill salad if she could, though.

Which is why, when he opened it up, she seized it as quick as she could. "Steak," she said, before the period could even form on his sentence. Then a hasty blush spread across her cheeks as she added a, "Please. Thank you. Charred on the outside, a little bloody in? With the biggest baked potato you got back there, with plenty of butter and cream and maybe some bits of bacon and those little round green things?"
Chives. They were called chives, Amaya.
Her stomach gave a hearty rumble of approval and she grinned, much less embarrassed about that one.
"And Japan, huh? Ain't that over near China?"
Look at her, getting all on-point with her Earth geography.

Yes, he was going to make the kitchen staff make the steak and potato. He really was not making too much of an effort. He stepped away and got the line cooks on the job, and came back to the counter.
"Where are you from, if I may ask?"

She preened a little at this, mostly proud that she hadn't even killed any of the kids yet...though most of her kids were likely pull that off without her help.
"Still feels kinda weird saying it, though. I'm a blacksmith by trade, normally. Never thought I'd be teaching kids, but here I am. I run the general store here, too. Whole long story there, but I'm looking to break ground on a new shop just this summer. Seems like it can't get here fast enough, especially since winter decided to stick around a little longer."

And her bite of steak got nearly to her mouth before the rest of it caught up with her and her eyes widened a little. "Wait, man who forged you?"
He...did say the future. Maybe he was one of those robot things.

"Well, now, isn't that interesting," she remarked, finally getting her bite in. "What's that like for you?"
She liked to think that if she were a weapon (a great big old broad axe, no doubt, with far too many unnecessary spikes), and her soul had been transferred into a human body, she'd be pretty sore about it.
