Pick Your Poison, Wednesday

So, because apparently Sparkle didn't have enough to keep himself busy (read: distracted) with these days, he'd gone and asked Ino for a job. It had been an interesting conversation, but it had ended with him A) A little more enlightened about the things she did in her spare time and B) Aware that he wasn't allowed to go into a room he couldn't open the door to anyway. Both of these things were fine with him, really. She'd made it perfectly clear that her secret upstairs room carried risk of death, and Sparkle? Big fan of not dying.

So, the downstairs it was, and Sparkle was spending his first shift acquainting himself with the merchandise. Some loose leaf teas by the counter- Sparkle was happy to poke through those and then set aside one labelled 'energy' for himself for those late nights with homework. There was a selection for cologne and shaving cream, and another one with cosmetics that he was going to frolic through later. The lotions, soaps, and salts seemed to be the bulk of the stock, and they were running a sale on the winter scents.

He glanced out the window. He wasn't so sure the winter scents were so off base this week. Hell, he had to skate to work today, after all.

And that was why he was gathering up all the discounted winter stock and putting it on display near a window for people to see as they skated by. If selling self-care stuff was anything like selling clothing, people loved to see a good sale. It was just a shame he couldn't figure out a way to filter the warm and cozy apple-cinnamon chai, gingerbread, and pine scents out into the street to further entice people to come inside.

Yeah, he could live with this job. Tomorrow he'd probably regret putting all of his commitments smack-dab in the middle of the week. But today? He could live with this job.
