The Park, Friday Afternoon
Kanan stared down at the little winged snow people scattered across the ground with a raised eyebrow.
He waved a hand at them, kind of awkwardly.
"Look, I have a sword lesson to teach. You're going to be underfoot if you stay there, and I don't think it's going to go over well if somebody steps on you."
They stared back up at him, and tilted their little heads.
"Look, you can stick around if you go over there or something."
They didn't budge. One flopped backwards into the snow and waved their little arms and legs and wings around, leaving a tiny imprint of themself on the ground underneath them.
"Right."
This was going to make for a difficult sword lesson. Not that the snow was going to be a big help either.

Because the weather had been unhelpful to her this week.

And cold as it was. Kanan was well aware that anybody who showed up here for lessons would probably much rather he take those lessons indoors, out of the cold.

The little snow angels all started to spin and twirl around them, dancing and pretending to be on skates themselves.
"Hell, I might have to draw my line at this one."
He hated to, but the island didn't seem to want to cooperate with him on Fridays, lately.

Which... admittedly sounded like fun, but if there was one thing he took seriously, it was the commitment he'd made to teach people.

At least last week it had been an actual storm. Today it was just... weird.

And really, who knew if there wouldn’t be more snow angels, or maybe they’d follow.

He'd been a difficult pup to corner and towel off. Even now he was halfway across the park doing an impressive job of blending into the snow, mostly by flopping down into it and then wiggling until only a rainbow-spotted face could be seen poking out, tongue lolling around happily.

She said that now. She didn’t know.

Because she also didn't really want to step on any snow angels.

In the snow. Maybe this was for the best.

"I think that one likes you."
no subject
Which he continued stubbornly not doing.

Right, he wasn't from around here.
"It's making snow angels," Tip explained. "It's a pretty common weird little snow day tradition on Earth, as far as I know."
no subject
"... Making angels?"
Look, he knew what angels were, so far as they existed in his reality.
"I kind of figured it was just trying to get me soaked through."

"You lie down in the snow and wave your arms and legs back and forth and when you stand up it kind of looks like the imprint you left on the snow has wings and is wearing a skirt," Tip explained. "Emphasis on the 'kinda'."
no subject
"And people do this because...?"
They liked being cold and wet?
no subject
"Snow makes humans go crazy?" Tip suggested. "I mean, people run outside and basically throw themselves into drifts. They might as well make funny shapes while they do it."
no subject
He would feel thoroughly stupid if he did, mind.
no subject
"I mean, what could it hurt?"
Tip was definitely going to take pictures.
