Somewhere In The Preserve, Early Saturday Morning
There was this place, neatly nestled between the trees, where nothing but grass ever grew: it was meant for something else, and nature knew it.
That something else was today. A bright light sprang to life in the center of this clearing, briefly blinding, then faded somewhat into a humming purple portal into possibility.
Lo, the children would come.
[[ you're all good to go, woo au kids! ]]

Clue number one involved a glowing portal. Very suspicious.

stumbledgracefully landed on the island, squinting at her location for a moment before trying to decide which parent would be easier to find at that very moment.Odds were pretty even, so she simply took off in a random direction to see who she found first.

Ah! The preserve! Fandom! Media had been here often enough with her moms to know how this was supposed to work.
"Quota," she said eagerly. "What year is it?"
Quota, her phone, buzzed out the year.
"Oh my gosh! They're going to be my age! I have to find them right away! And then, then we'll go find the Grandpas and make them feel really old."

Stang, portals were going on the list of things not to touch unless she wanted a good dozen lectures, least three of them from her mother. Not immediately recognising this place, she reached out into the Force to get an idea of where she was.
"Huh."

Then again, he still managed to finish it on his feet, so it all came out in the wash, right?
He glanced around, reaching a hand up to idly wipe some leaf litter from his phoenix-and-wolf emblazoned jacket, and then broke into a grin.
"I had a feeling today was going to be an interesting one."

Then she looked around. Oo, this was fun! What world was this?

But right now, it was so much fun seeing them younger!
She felt around for their minds, nodded, and headed off.

Unfortunately, Silly—bumbling, ridiculous, his mom's Silly—had decided that the portal was something to go through.
And while calling for his dads would have been the more prudent option, there was no way Kueng was losing his chicobo. It would be an unacceptable loss.
Through the portal Kueng went, stepping out into the… preserve, he snatched Silly out of the air (carefully, carefully). "You're more trouble than you're worth," he told the bird, who beeped contentedly back at him.
"Come on," he said, "let's go home."
Only, when Kueng turned to go back through the portal… it wouldn't let him through. He rested one hand on the purple light and sighed.
"This is your fault," he told Silly. "One hundred percent, absolutely, your fault."
Fine. Fine. He'd walk back.

And got slightly worried when it disappeared not long after she stepped tgrough, but no matter! Surely a solution back home to Zora's Domain would present itself in due time...

that was totally mentioned in the last post, and she whirled toward the other girl, fists clenched and ready to go. "Who are you? What clan? Do you submit to the war princess Hematemisis, or do you wish for death?"no subject

"Is this Earth?"
Okay, so definitely not a portal made by Uncle Funsize.
