Alluka had a daughter!

Alluka was still not entirely sure of how she had a daughter but since Media wasn't trying to steal her Papas away from her… Alluka was entirely okay with having a daughter.

She was funny, in any case, and kept making Alluka laugh.

Alluka liked her daughter.

Ringo… Ringo seemed to be a little more shocked by the whole thing, which confused Alluka a bit, but she'd still come along with them to eat all the chocolate.

Chocolate would make Ringo feel better, right?

Media darted up to the counter. "We want everything you have that's chocolate! Please!"

After that bold demand, Media turned to Alluka and grinned cheekily. "That takes care of my order. What do you want?"

"I'm having some of yours!" Alluka insisted, giggling. "Chocolate is important!"

"I suppose I can share," Media allowed. "Good thing my mom taught me to be so generous, huh?"

"It's the polite thing to do," Alluka said, looking at the tables. "Which table do you want to sit at?"

"By the window!" Media declared. "I want to people-watch!"

"That's okay, right?"

[that_oldsaying]

"As long as we don't waste chocolate, it's fine," Alluka replied, picking one of the tables along the window. "If we waste chocolate, it's a crime."

Alluka was... probably kidding. Probably.

"You know I'd never let that happen!"

Media giggled. "You taught me better than that, mom!"

Alluka laughed. She couldn't help it. Media made it impossible to not.

"That's so weird to me," she admitted. "I can't imagine teaching anyone anything!"

"Why not?" Media asked, finding a chair to sit but immediately starting to bounce up and down in her seat.

"I mean, you're pretty good at it!"

Alluka blinked.

"I guess... I guess because I've never tried yet?" Alluka didn't really think she had anything to teach anyone, not really.

Ringo was still trying to get her head around having, you know, a daughter. Especially one that was almost her own age. It was just so weird!

It helped that Media was so friendly. She'd probably be an awesomely fun kohai to have around.

Except, you know, the girl was Ringo's daughter somehow.

She found herself grinning at Media's order. "I wonder who taught you to order like that."

"Both of you!" Media said brightly, laughing. "What do you want, Mom? Mom and I are taking all the chocolate!"

So you were going to have to fend for yourself, Ringo!

"Greedy," Ringo accused with a laugh. "I guess I'll have to settle for cheesecake." Though, obviously not the chocolate cheesecake. Not if she wanted a chance to eat any of it herself.

"Just so you know, when you two eat so much you get sick, I'm going to laugh at you."

"Don't be silly, Mom," Media said, looking amused. "People don't get sick from chocolate."

At least, she never had. And Mom never had either.

"So now I have to deal with two of you?" Ringo sighed, shaking her head. "How do you handle it when there's only enough chocolate for three normal people?" So, like, half as much as Alluka would eat in a sitting.

That was an accurate estimation of Alluka's chocolate intake, it really was, despite Kathy's best attempts at curbing it.

"We share, obviously."

Media grinned.

"And then we go hunting for more!"

"What a terrifying thought," Ringo snickered.

She fell silent for a moment, her expression softening.

"I'm glad you seem so happy." It was actually a bit of a confidence boost, the idea that someone she helped raise seemed to come out so well.

Media shook her hair out, it turning dark brown as she did so.

"Why wouldn't I be happy?" she wondered. "You and Mom are the best things that ever happened to me."

Alluka leaned over conspiratorially. "You can have a little of my chocolate, Ringo."

But only a little!

Ringo giggled. "Thanks, Alluka. You don't have to, though, if you don't want to. There's plenty of other stuff here, and I while I like chocolate a lot, it's not as much as you do." Because that would be impossible!

"If you're sure," Alluka said, grinning. "I won't push you to take any of it, if you are."

That set Ringo into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. "Yeah, don't force me," she managed with a grin. "Besides, you're already having to share with Media."

"I know," Alluka said, giggling more. "But maybe I'm feeling generous today!"

"Hmm," Ringo nodded thoughtfully. "I guess she probably will be gone by tomorrow, huh?"

It felt like she'd only just arrived.

"She could stay longer," Alluka said, watching Media bounce in her seat as she pried two cookies apart to eat the layer in-between first. "I wouldn't mind."
