The Onsen; Friday Afternoon [04/13].
A bad mood had struck Summer since Thursday morning, and it had been persistent in clinging to her as she pretended she didn't know what the source of it was, but deep down, she knew, and the denial of it only made it worse. Some therapeutic art had helped a little; even singing in class earlier that day had helped more than she'd admit, but the relief was only temporary, because they were distractions from the core of it all: she was graduating soon, and with that came a whole mess of feelings and thoughts that she wasn't ready to confront yet. It came with a heavy dose of needing to finally decide what the hell she was going to do from here on in, and feeling completely and utterly unprepared for the things she wanted to do.
Then there was her mother, who had been hounding at her to come home, easily one of the last places in the multiverse she wanted to return. But Beth had made her offers, she'd put out some bargains. If she came home, she'd pay for some community college courses for Summer to take while she figured things out. Summer considered the usefulness of that...she was planning on rejecting college, it wasn't like she'd need it in space, but she also had absolutely no experience, so perhaps some business courses might be beneficial. Just for the summer...it wouldn't be that long...
She couldn't decide yet. She wasn't ready, and it was stressing her out, and it made her cranky, and she didn't know what to do with herself, but she did know that she needed to relax, and so maybe a trip to the onsen after classes to just sort of pamper herself and unwind and maybe finally start really thinking about these things might be just the ticket. It was amazing how, the moment she slipped into the water, she felt all of her worries and stresses just sort of melt away, at least temporarily, at least as long as she had her phone put away to stop the barrage of harrassing texts from her mother, at least for a little while.
[[what, you think I'm going to come across this gorgeous image and not immediately want to use it?? Open! Though with the usual work-related spottiness ]]
