It'd been a reasonably quiet day, all told, but as the sun began to dip below the horizon, the creatures from the new portal came back out to play.

There were more of them now (Quark's bouncers were the best the very least amount of money could buy, after all, and not very good at not going to the bathroom in pairs), and they were getting braver. And much more willing to work in teams.

The magic all over Fandom was just too tasty to pass up.

Paris, drunk after half a White Russian, stumbled towards the dorms. "This is gonna ruin my Harvard chances," she slurred to herself.

That depended. Did Harvard frown on being eaten by magic monsters?

The tremens stalked around the corner, already slavering over the delicious smells coming out of the building. It crouched low when it spotted Paris, skinless tail waving in anticipation.

Paris might want to run.

Paris really should've, but she was far too distracted yelling at a bush that had clearly jumped out to trip her.

Well, sure, everyone knew about how vicious Fandom bushes were.

The tremens stalked closer, enjoying the chase, its aura of cold dread creeping up along with it.

Paris whirled around, still managing to face the wrong direction, and shouted, "I'm extremely good at karate, so don't mess with me."

She was not extremely good at karate.

The tremens honestly wouldn't care either way, anyway. All it cared about was that she was extremely having had drunk an alcohol.

It let out a low growl, then pounced.
