The Magic Box, Tuesday
Norman wasn't completely certain what to do about the spectral customer who had come into the shop today. He'd entered through a wall, talking to himself, and was now proceeding to drift around the shop, looking at this and that, muttering to himself in a voice too low for Norman to really make out. Which was interesting in its own right. Most ghosts didn't worry too much about being overheard talking to themselves. Most living folks couldn't hear them in the first place. Unless this guy didn't realize...?
And now Norman was grimacing at the counter. He did not want to be the one to explain the situation to an oblivious ghost. Those encounters rarely ended well. And so he answered the man's questions about the merchandise as best as he could, and even helped him with his shopping after a few attempts at picking up a package of incense ended about as well as one might expect. The ghost seemed fairly thankful, and then asked Norman to hold his purchase at the counter, he'd send his assistant along to pay and carry it out for him before long.
The ghost then wandered off, and Norman got back to his work for a good twenty minutes or so before he heard a scratching at the door. He went, opened it up, and then looked down to see a little black cat wearing a service animal (Don't pet me! I'm working!) vest, holding a coin purse in her mouth.
Huh. Only on Fandom Island, he supposed, as he counted out the change and gave the cat the coin purse and the incense to take back to her person. Only on Fandom Island.
